As of 9/27/12, the boat ramp was redone some years ago with new cement slabs able to fit two lanes into the water. They dug a nice canal out and there’s sand on the sides. BUT. as of 9/27/12, the water is low, low, low. Another foot down since the summer (2012) and the total depth in that canal is down to about 3 feet or less depending on the area of the canal. There’s actually one little rock island, in the middle from the power loaders that used their engines and pushed the rocks into a big heap, so if you’re not paying attention, your motor can grab this pile. So watch out and stop power loading your boats onto the trailers. The water is low so placing your trailer in the middle will help keep it level. Otherwise, one side will be higher than the other. Getting in and out is not a problem but on a very windy day, you may have some trouble as the wind will push you into the sand and then you’re stuck. Watched lots of newbie weekenders get stuck. If you have a lawn chair, in the summer time, is the best time to sit and watch these dum dums. As of 9/27/12, no problems getting in and out. Just have to patient for those who aren’t as experienced. But be forwarned, water is low, meaning, probably 4-6 feet from the actual water line so this also changes the fishing patterns. The actual shore lines are probably 30 feet or more away from their original land lines.
