i don’t know why, but whenever my daughter fishes with us she is probably going to catch the biggest fish of the day. she is 14yrs old and has fished for at least 12 years. maybe its because she doesn’t take the fishing experience as seriously as her father and brother. when she was small (4-5yrs) she would take her barbie dolls out in the boat and pretend the livewell was a hot-tub! now when we go out she fishes for a while , catches a nice fish or two , then puts the rod down and reads a magazine or works on her tan. when she does catch a really nice fish (which happens more often than not) it just drives her big brother crazy. great memories…

i fished below the dam at guttenberg this past sunday. very cold and very slow. i did catch 1 walleye, she was 26″ and really fat (i released her after a quick photo). caught it in 18′ just outside of ackermans cut working a minnow vertically. water temp was 36F.

    good luck,

i’m another angler from the chicago area , takes about 4 hours to get to cassville, 5 1/2 hrs to genoa , my 2 favorite spots. this last sunday we caught just 1 but it was a 26″ walleye(released). monday we went up to genoa and did much better , 3 eyes between 18 to 22″ and 6 keeper sauger. tuesday just 3 undersized walleyes. we nearly froze our ringworms but as usual had a great time on the river.
