Is that manufactured or homemade? What’s the name of it?

Anyone else go this direction. Some inspiration from the IDO set up. In the box- added I-bolts to strap down stuff, mesh cargo net on top, and rear lighting. Still needs interior lighting, battery box and toggle switches to come. It’s ice ready.
I will for sure. Check out the IDO ice videos for ideas. I plan to put a digger auger mount on the side as well. Hope it’s not over loading the aluminum. a tourning will be easier with a better platform to work off of( then mount the digger in the front).
I’m working on one right now. I have an Arctic Cat Crossfire 600. It will be bolted to all aluminum. Plan to build a rear platform and run bolted steel angle iron supports along the foot panels/track housing. I’ll also be mounting a digger auger rack to one side and bucket holder (otter) to the other. Positioning will be close to the IDO sleds but not on a touring sled which would be much nicer to work with.
I was looking at one for myself recently. I ran into Donovan Pearase, blackwatercats.com guiding on Winnipeg last year and asked him about the Otter Hub styles. He was very pleased. I stepped in for a minute and was easily heated with a single sunflower. I asked him if he would buy again and he said yes. I didn’t realize he was a guide until after I was done talking to him but just a flat out good guy IMO from talking to him for those few minutes. Had I realized he was working I wouldn’t have interrupted.
Does Otter have a new line up or catalog for 16-17? Starting to get this itch. Ready to upgrade from a Jason Mitchell that I wasn’t overly impressed with.
Been using the Marcum style for 10 years plus. Never an issue with the arm but did break a transducer once when I picked up and lx5 that was froze in, it tensioned the wiring and must’ve snapped. No visable damage but broke something internal. Reeds overnighted me the replacement and learned to check that in extreme colds (was like -20).
In my situation I use a reel grip and the reason is all in the hook set. The hand in a relaxed position with the reel falls in to a radial deviated position or down toward the hole. This offers an ulnar deviated hook set direction from the wrist or straight upward. That amount of movement from the wrist moves the rod tip a lot and can be very fast compared to a rod grip. Th rod grip is going to use an elbow movement into Flexion to set the hook, much more movement needed for the same amount of rod tip movement. Which makes it slower. So for me the quickness is key. Good way to look at it is to hold a rod and watch how much the tip move with the wrist hook set vs the elbow moving hook set. The wrist is much faster because the ratio of wrist movement to rod tip moved is more favorable. Its also comfortable.
Yes use Warner Road access. chalet wasn’t accessible when I was up in Feb. Good Luck, post pics
Canada tire in Selkirk was good. I liked their emerald shiners better than the salties that fall off all the time from Pro-Am. I’ve had quite long waits a Pro-Am and since I didn’t need any more gear it was nice to skip the crowd there. We usually stop to eat then swing in there quick. Easy to park with a trailer too.

There is a breakdown of their different suits which was helpful when I looked for one for my girlfriend.
9.25# eye at 28inches long. Gotta work on the pose to get better fish, picture didn’t do it justice.
I’ll be heading up there on Wednesday for the 4th year. My has live targets, clackin raps, ripping raps, PK spoons, and flying rattle spoons just to name a few. The best producer is consistently the Blue Ghost live target, can’t remember the size but it’s big
I like my cabelas rod bag, not sure it will hold that length though. I have the hard case they make. Not many hook catches.
