I agree, neither…buy a jiffy “legend” 3 hp. Make sure to buy a tecumseh motor (not sure on the newer motors…have yet to hear if reliable). Nothing plastic..all metal, metal on/off switch, metal throttle actuator, metal gear housing. Years and years of trustworthy output

Go to Lake O the woods. Igloo out of zipple bay…fun attraction, fish biting….can’t catch anything but “keepers” Saugs hit and miss. Pink demon rattle reel.
Look up Vince…he’ll take care of you

Got ripped on a little by the Marcum boys that I wasn’t using Strikemaster. Although I’m sure their product is fine (strikemaster), I’ve had exellent luck with my 10″ 3hp Jiffy. A little heavy for girly men, but powers through 3′ of ice in no time flat. 8 holes in the house, holes cut in less than 5 minutes. Not sure how SM could cut faster than that. Boys up at Zipple broke the plastic handle on their new strikmaster, first day out. Little disappointed in Jiffy’s move on engine selection with Tecumseh out of biz. Need to cut a deal with Honda and stay away from plastic throttle handles, gear box covers or anything else. My Legend is all steel. Takes a beating like a mans tool. Plastic Strikmasters should be an automatic revocation of Man Card.
