With the way the river had been rising and falling the last couple of months it has been tough finding fish at times. The river is starting to settle down nicely now, so maybe we’ll get more reports. For walleyes and whites that is, water is getting a little cold for cats.

    Hey UG,

Sounds kinda slow, but that should change soon. Thanks for the report!

    Good Fishing,
    Mike

Yup kinda slow. But this is a beautiful lake and I’ll be back. Since I’m a river fisherman too, I’m going to try for some of those channels in there. Noticed one that had floated up on the beach at Fisherman’s Inn that must have gone 10 lbs, too bad it was a nice fish.

It’s ok UG you can use my name. That bass sure did want that Zoom trick worm. Funniest thing about it was the worm was as long as the fish! LOL

Hey Dark how’s it going? You hit Rapidan lately? I haven’t been there in a while was wondering how the fishing was there. I know the pie is good. BTW you know me better as Lucky.

Thanks for the info Mike. I’ll be giving those big boys a chance to hit my favorite Risto Raps next time out.
“Jake” sorry to hear of your slump in regards to the toothy critters. Think big, shiny, and noisy.

Ya it’s been slow but the river is starting to take shape. May be able to pinpoint them a little better with the lower water.

FishFace since you are a “newbie” to cat fishing. I’ll throw this out to ya. The max size on bullies for bait is 7″. Bigger than that and they lose there bait status and are illegal to use as bait. Good luck on your cat hunts.

Hi everyone! I’ve been spending my time on this site just wondering around checking it out. I must say I’m impressed at the format, content and extent of info on here! Thanks for the warm welcome! I’m starting to feel right at home already. You’ll probably find me doing most of my posting on the southern Mn or Mn River Forums. I live about 2 blocks from the Mn River in N. Mankato, and I do alot of fishing there. Hope to see some of you on the water, and if you are ever over my way don’t hesitate to give me a holler and we can set up some fishing time. Catch ya later got to get up early and go fishing tomorrow!

Anyone operating a boat on a strange lake at night had best slow down. The last time I checked, boats weren’t equipped w/ headlights. Even on lakes you know, w/ moonlight, etc, SLOW down.

Zumbro is one of two lakes I’ve been on w/ dams – the other is in Missouri. Both are marked identically.

    UG

Hey UG I’m glad you are well aware of where that dam is. Since I’ll be riding with you on Zumbro soon.
