I’ve been surprised on how much they have increased in price, I use to collect the model 12s and 97s back a few years ago > I worked pt for Herter’s when they moved some of their products to Golden valley and we were selling model 12 riot guns still in cosmolin (sp) for $99.00

I had a 1790 2003 skeeter and that handled everything from Devils lake Lac Suel and leech and Winnie never was scared in it, I know some of the early warriors’ had wood in the transom Skeeter was all composite, never cared to fish from a Ranger it always felt like the main floor was to narrow. The first year Skeeter 2000t came with a 150 hp . Any of the three are far superior to a tin boat for ride and comfort.

Back in my day 1960s I stole some tackle from the Gambles store, Dad called the cops and the took me to the cop shop and cut all the tackle out of my sweatshirt I was scared shitless, then they took me back home in the squad car where Dad was waiting for me he was a bartender bouncer so you can probably guess it was a bit more than a spanking.I learned that it really hurt to steal. So yeah things are different with kids now days, hands off just give them an I pad

Back in 1987 I owned my bakery in Blooming Prairie MN, I just put out a sign for help wanted AND SHE WALKS IN!!!! The most beautiful lady I’ve ever seen, I asked if she could decorate cakes and she said she’s done at home for family and friends. Man I wasn’t going to let this catch of a lifetime pass me up so I hired her .After 2 years we got married and she’s worked by my side up till we retired from baking, she sure made me look good all of those years this lady was the ultimate lady, no swearing drinking she never even heard of half of the words that came out of my rotten mouth. She fishes with me and hunts and even makes a mean meal. To be quite honest I hope that she outlives me because we have spent the last 34 years together side by side and I wouldn’t know what to do without her. Yeah guys she’s the real deal.

Back in the 60’s my Dad had a heart attack and after he recovered he brought two Remington 760s down from his gun cabinet and had me and my younger brother choose which one we wanted, I took the ..06 and my brother took the .257 Roberts I also got his win model 12 16gauge with the burl walnut stock. To this day when I’m deer hunting and I hear a smaller caliber rifle I think of Dad.

That Winchester 1897 black diamond is worth money, they called the 1897 a widow maker because if your thumb was cold it would slip off the hammer and fire

Pete’s bakery was sold a couple of years ago. I’m an old scratch baker I’ve been doing it for 48 years and a lot has changed over the years. I bake for Eldens in Alexandria MN .We do quite a few products from scratch, cookies, pies, pie bars pumpkin bars Angel foods are all scratch no mixes with this old guy.If any of you guys are up in this area to fish stop in after 9 thirty pm for a warm cake donut, we also make a nasty bun called a Zorba- long stem green onion cheddar cheese and garlic powder mixed into the bun pretty good stuff

I was up in Bemidji on Sunday to visit my daughter and talked to a bait shop up there and they said according to the native trappers it would be highly unlikely there will be leeches

I,m a baker and a lot of bear hunters ask for the day old, one guy buys 100lbs of powder sugar and a pint of anise oil from me and mixes that up and spreads it over the day old , another guy stores all the day old in a drum and compresses it and says just the top layer has mold after a year another thing is most bakeries just put the old oil in a rendering vat but maybe some would put it in buckets for you another place to try to get cooking oil is the deli departments.
