Dodge is going to have the smallest turbo V6 in a half ton. Be careful with trusting those EPA MPG numbers because none of my buddies with ecoboost get anywhere near what the sticker said.

Ford has been using a 2.7 Turbo V6 in the F150 since 2015. I have one. I absolutely love it.

I have never driven a vehicle in MN that got EPA MPG numbers, especially the city MPG. Turbo4, Turbo V6, NA V6, V8, Diesel, etc.

A 10′ Talon fits on my 1775 Adventure in a 7′ garage door. I do have a tilt bracket but don’t need to use it.

A 12′ or 15′ Talon would likely need to use the tilt bracket.

If you went with Raptors, you could partially deploy them to lower the height, then stow them once past the garage door. You are not technically supposed to use the tilt bracket with Raptors, but the hole pattern is the same.

Michelin CrossClimate2. Just put these on my wife’s Ford Escape a few months ago. She drives 30 miles to and from work each day. We had an icy morning a couple weeks ago, a few cars ended up in the ditch. She said she didn’t slip at all and was completely confident.

I get the point of it but it should not override my settings.

You can turn off Amber Alerts, Public Safety Alerts, and System Test Alerts in your notification settings.

Actually I had some EV training today… 33.7KWH charge is equivalent to 1 gallon of gas. At todays prices, .14c/kwh 33.7kwh will cost $4.74 with an at home charger (12-14 hrs). A Supercharger (charges in 2-4 hours) will be $9.86 per gallon equivalent. So all things equal, slow charging at home would be break even with $4.74 per gallon of gasoline… using a fast charger will be like paying $9.86 per gallon at the pump coffee

Might wanna check your math the big_g, and double-check whoever was doing the training…

33.7KWH is equal to the energy of gallon of gasoline at the chemistry level. This is not related to miles for a vehicle.

When you look at EVs, you’ll see their fuel efficiency listed as MPGe. The Mustang Mach-E has an efficiency of about 100 MPGe, meaning it will travel 100 miles using 33.7KWH of energy, or comparing to gasoline energy-wise, it gets 100 mpg.

    $0.14/KHW * 33.7KWH = $4.78 for 100 miles.

It is not recommended to use a lithium battery as a cranking battery. The current spike needed to start the engine can fry the Lithium BMS. I have experienced this a couple times (can’t remember the brands, sorry).

There are a few brands that advertise as safe for cranking. Up to you if you want to trust them.

If I have to cook on a electric stove I’m not gonna be happy

My previous house which was brand new (built in 2012) had an electric stove. I hated it.

The house I moved into last May has a natural gas one with cast iron grates. Its so much better for cooking and efficiency.

Even if they ban the sale of new gas stoves, they’ll have to come pry the current one from my bare hands.

We just bought a new Frigidaire Gallery Range with induction cooktop. 100x better than gas or traditional electric stoves. It’s seriously awesome. I can get a whole pot of water to boil in 60 seconds. And when I lift the pot of the stove, the stove is only warm to the touch and not scalding hot. The stove senses if a pot is in place and turns off the magnets if it doesn’t sense any cookware. Super decreased risk of burns.

I also have a RecTeq. Line the drip tray with heavy duty wide aluminum foil. Replace it every one or two cooks.

The trolling motors are shipping with and IOU for the Heading Sensors, this is independent of GPS. Your GPS, spot lock, autopilot, etc will all still work.

I believe the only thing you lose without the Heading Sensor is the spot lock jog function, where you can jog 5ft at a time while spot locked.

I had CertainTeed Landmark put on my house in early April. I chose the Pewter color and they look great. So far so good with all the windy days we’ve had in the last month.

I don’t believe they offer a Helix 5 GPS ONLY. They do offer a Helix 5 CHIRP GPS, the CHIRP being 2D Sonar.

They also offer a Helix 9 CHIRP GPS. It comes with the 2D Sonar transducer, but it is still cheaper than a model with DI or SI.

They also offer CHO (Control Head Only) units which do not come with a transducer. These are of course less expensive than models with a transducer. They are useful for networking to a unit that already has a transducer installed, provided the installed unit is capable of networking.

I should clarify: When speed jigging I idle around with my 2D on. No Side imaging.

I believe what you are asking is which SI transducer is giving you the 2D sonar reading? The short answer is that it probably doesn’t matter. 2D doesn’t necessarily show you what’s directly under the transducer within inches. Even with 2D set to a narrow beam, in 20 feet of water, your 2D sonar is reading about 4 feet on either side of the transducer.

But forcing a kid to play anything is about the worst idea you could have. What a way to force some one to dislike something.

This is probably true for most kids, I hated it at the time, but now I really appreciate it. Once I surpassed my piano teacher’s skill level, I studied pipe organ. I also taught myself guitar to offset the nerdiness of the pipe organ.

Now I can make a good chunk of change with minimal effort by filling in for church services, accompanying school choirs, etc.

You will probably be happier with a Terrova or Ulterra versus the Ultrex. The largest Ultrex is a 60inch shaft length, which may pop out of the water from time to time in rougher water. The 72inch Terrova or Ulterra will give you the extra shaft length should you need it.

CaptainMusky also makes a good point. The 80lb/24V system is probably sufficient for your boat, and it requires one less battery than the 112lb/36V system.

I know how frustrating it can be, but I try to give the workers some grace. IMO, retail jobs are the worst jobs ever. I worked at a farm and fleet store throughout high school 9ish years ago, and an auto parts store store through college. I was making minimum wage, working 30-45 hours per week, but still considered part-time so they didn’t have to offer benefits. I was also never trained on any of the products we sold, because that would require company time, and company time is money. I have sold 100’s of lawnmowers without knowing a single thing about them, just telling the customer what they want to hear.

I like to think I was always nice to customers, even when being talked down to for not knowing the differences between Purina and Nutrena horse feed. But there is no motivation for anyone to go the extra mile for the sake of the company. Department managers hate their jobs, the store manager hated their job, the regional manager tolerated his job because he was making decent money, but why would anyone want to work their way up to that when the company could not care less?

Sorry for the rant. But long story short, retail workers don’t care, and I don’t blame them.

The Disney/Hulu/ESPN bundle is the way to go imo, and if you have Verizon you get for free.

I thought this didn’t get you live ESPN1, ESPN2, etc. So no MNF, Formula 1, live sports that you get on traditional cable.

What model? The locking mechanism is different between the different Minn Kota models. Post a picture or two if you can.

Ill be the first of many to say it, Striker Ice. I got the predator bibs earlier this season, they are amazing. Seemed to be much more durable over the other brands.

Sound in the 300 levels for Metallica was one big garbled sound as well. It was okay for me knowing most words to most songs, but it was just a loud mess for my girlfriend.

Thank you guys. I was able to catch the last half hour of a crappie bite on North Long. Was planning on going to Round tomorrow for sunfish, but if walleyes are there, that’s even better.

I bought a Yukon t/c last year and absolutely love it. I bought and installed Clam’s light bar and I love that as well. I pointed it at an angle towards the door, instead of straight down and it is perfect.

I also purchased Clam’s center console (the same one that comes in the Voyager), and so far it has been useful.

One more small thing that I highly suggest is buying some coat hangers (Clam and Frabil both make some) and attaching them the the very rear support beam. My yukon heats up in just a few minutes with a big buddy, and having the coat hangers allows you to be comfortable while keeping your coat dry and put of the way.

I always carry a bottle of spray lubricant (wd40, or even vegetable oil) because the chair sliders seem to get sticky after sitting cold and unused for a week or so. It’s nice to be able to just spray the seat track whenever you feel the need, and you can also spray the tent poles so they extend out and fold up easier.

I’m assuming you don’t have the all thermal Yukon. As with all tents that aren’t thermal, the fabric gets wet. I always be sure to set my tent up in my garage after a night of fishing and run my buddy heater inside the tent or at least dry off the wall with a towel. I don’t know if this is necessary, but I just don’t like when the water on the fabric freezes.

I do not have the sled runner kit, but I am considering getting it. I pulled my sled a mile by hand through a few inches of inconsistent snow a few days ago and I still feel out of breath. Can anyone share if the runner kit would help with that?

Enjoy your new fish house and best of luck this season!

The shallow end of Lake Francis has always been a good producer of bluegills in quality and quantity for me. Both in open water and ice fishing.

Thanks guys. I think I’ll have to try to find some small honey holes for bluegills. Maybe I’ll discover some new favorites.

Can’t speak on the elite, but I do own that Marcum, and I would not trade it for anything. The zoom really helped me a few times when nailing crappies on the bottom in 20ft.
