I am a Honda guy love their generators and my Forman but have heard nothing but problems with that new auger with that Honda motor. Thanks for any input

There is no wide spread issues with the Honda augers. In fact, they’re as reliable and user-friendly a product as you’ll find. Don’t let a vocal few skew perceptions. Thousands of these augers have been sold this winter and very, very few have had any issues of any kind. Of course consumers have learned that if they have an issue they run to the internet to voice their concerns… while all the happy customers go about their business.

My experience with the Honda is that it is an amazingly quiet, powerful and easy to start motor. The overwhelmingly vast majority of Honda owners will tell you the same.

Agreed! My issue was as simple as venting the gas cap. Easy fix and now it runs like a champ!

Took the gas cap apart when I got home today, I think the inner piece may have been out of alignment with the cap itself, cutting off the air. Brought it out to a nearby pond and let it idle for a bit then put the hammer down and drilled 20 holes, RAN GREAT!! Never had to loosen the cap and it never missed a beat.

Thanks for all the advice, I’m hoping it continues to run great!

I crack open my gas cap each time before I run my augers… any of them… just a habit I guess…

I havethe Honda 4-Stroke Lite and I do not have any issues with it… I was in -10 this past weekend.. 4 pulls and she ran like a champ…

Crack the gas cap… let us know if that solves the issue !!

This Gas cap is a bit different than I have seen before, with no vent you can open. Do you just twist it once to loosen it or take the black part all the way off?

That should be right around the main sockeye run, which is a blast! I typically fish just out side of Soldotna on the Keni River. If your looking for some information on spots, technique and presentation shoot me a PM.

Thanks for a fantastic trip Chris! The perfect choice for our Mini-Moon. You already hooked Gretch, she asked me this morning if we can come back and do this every year!

We went from fishing in the poring rain the first day to one of the best days of the summer the next. Couldn’t have asked for anything better.

I promise I’ll work on my net-man skills for the next time I’m up and Gretch wanted me to let you know that the T-Ball games will be played today

No way Android will surpass Apple,

    I believe android already did.

    Android Outselling Iphone

Wow, I guess I’m out of the loop, I would still contribute that more to the amount of phones they have rather than the strength of the OS, that first graphic in the article kind of shows that. The customer loyalty is much stronger with Apple.

No way Android will surpass Apple, They are not loosing any customers by people switching from at&t to verizon. Plus I know almost all of my friends that now have android phones are dying to switch to the iPhone.

The fact that android has 20+ different phones with its OS and is still being beat says alot. One Phone One OS simple and easy to manage.

Couldn’t agree more! This my second ice fishing season with it and it makes a world of difference. So easy to pull out and check as your walking along. It may not be as accurate as the other hand-held units but when you consider its just $10 vs having to buy a hand held plus a $100 chip its well worth it.

Did you get a length on any of those fish?

Never got a length, didn’t even think about it. I agree though you don’t normally see people bringing in perch on prior, defiantly not what we were planning on targeting. Saw alot of smaller perch holding close to the bottom in other spots as well, may be its a young population.

Go to Shane Co. I went there last year, found the perfect setting. Then they picked out a bunch of different diamonds for me and set them out on the table. They explained each one and why it was the price it was. They also explained the C’s and how they compared. I was able to examine each and decide what was right for me (bigger diamond with less quality, or smaller diamond with higher quality). By far the best experience I had, went to a few other places first and all they did was push a pre-made ring on me

With out a doubt, go with the flasher. I would NOT go ice fishing without one. I don’t own a camera, but have been with others that do. I don’t think the camera has helped me FIND any fish, but it is useful to see what type and size are down there. The flasher on the other hand helps FIND them – don’t leave home without one.

X2 Go with the flasher first, look at a camera down the road!

This will be my Third year with an Eskimo QuickFish 3. It is the same type of hub system. Best investment I ever made in a shelter. Pops up and down in a minute. Haven’t had any tears or holes, and it folds right up into a backpack size. Plus the hub system gives you that extra room around the center and is tall enough to stand up in! (I’m 6’4″). Can’t speak for the Cabelas brand specifically but you should be set! Just make sure you stake it down, with a little wind then tend to become a kite sometimes.

Hopefully the rain knocks down some of the snow on the ice and then freezes…would make for faster forming at least. The week ahead looks pretty cold, should still be able to get out this coming weekend!

Don’t waste your $9 unless you like film festival movies and crappy old movies. Very few and far between for good selection.

The streaming Netflix comes with the standard package of DVD’s by mail. The Selection may not be great right now but its improving every day. Plus instant streaming is the way things are moving, 5 years down the road netfilx could be all instant streaming.

I haven’t herd anything about a new Wii coming out but you would have to expect its coming soon with the new technology being put out for the ps3 and xbox.

Honestly I think a ps3 would be a wiser investment. Has a blueray player, can run netflix without a disk. WAY better graphics. PS3 Move is the same technology as Wii but much more advanced, only an extra $100, it uses motion sensor technology with a camera rather than just a sensor bar with the wii.

    Hope this helps

I had the Same thing happen to me. Cut out the bad section and remove the insulation and strip the wire on the new ends. Slide on some heat shrink tubing. Solder the matching wires together and wrap each of them with electrical tape. Slide the heat shrink over the exposed area leaving overlap onto the non-cut wire. once the heat shrink tubing is on use electrical tape on each end to make sure you get a good seal.

Worked great for me I have gone the whole season without any problems. Good Luck!

I Got an Eskimo QuickFish 3 last year. It is the perfect lightweight shelter. It fold up into a backpack or fits perfectly into a sled. It sets up in less than a minute and has tons of room, including being able to stand up in it, and im 6’4″. Definitely check this one out if your interested!!

He decided on his own that he was only going to poop in the woods next to our house so it shouldn’t be too difficult to teach him to only pee there as well.

Grouse_Dog thanks for the pm. Im going to try the lemon idea and see if that works as well.

Depending on how old your dish is you may or may not need a new one. I just recently got direct tv and I think they are running a two free hd dvr special right now. Adding hd and dvr service was $17 a month extra.

The other option that may be great for you since you want to have two hd dvr tv’s is the whole home system. Record or pause a movie in one room and finish it in the other, pretty sweet.

Anyway you look at it your going to be upgrading so im sure they would do free installation, you may just have to renew your contract.
