Im guessing this is to boost their yoga pants sales.

Much like there are restrictions on who can buy firearms, there should be stringent restrictions on who can buy and wear yoga pants.

Unlike the current NICS systems for firearms, the “back”ground check for yoga pants will only take a few seconds and can be done in the store.

The zip lock sandwich baggies are mostly sealed and sitting on a serving tray, so warm air isn’t directly hitting the moist paper towel. I also use a spray bottle to mist them if they look a bit dry as I check for germination.

The zip loc baggie works, but wrapping the paper towel in aluminum foil helps prevent fungal growth.

Admittedly, but I don’t watch any football, but what is the punter doing on the defensive PAT team? I thought punters only punted and held the ball on kicks.

    Either way, good for him.

Been thinking that but I keep holding out. How in the world could every one of a hundred seeds not spark?

The large amount of rain could have washed them out. I’ve had that happen with my carrots before. Or else they could just be bad seeds.

I don’t even start my vining plants (squash and zucchini) until mid to late June so as to avoid squash vine borers.

As for beans, you can plant them as late as mid-July and still get a good late season crop. My second planting of beans is usually mid to late July.

My best advice is to stop now before it’s too late. Unless, of course, you thrive on heartbreak and frustration and you don’t care about burning through your bank account buying thousands of dollars worth of overpriced lures, rods, reels, nets, etc.

It’s too late for me, but if I can save just one person, I’ll consider my mission a success.

I went to Waseca High School. For our senior prank, a friend and I snuck up to the school late one night and removed a few letters from the sign so that it read, ‘WAS_ _ A HIGH SCHOOL’. We also ‘borrowed’ a for sale sign from a friend whose dad was a realtor and put it out front.

Neither Joe or I said a word about it, but the administration still found out it was us *cough* guy we borrowed the sign from *cough* They were none too pleased, so they fixed the problem by making the letters unremovable.

Our original plan was for each of us to give the principal one of the letters when he handed us our diploma at graduation, but we had to return the letters when we got narked out.

Put the engine in gear. Then grab the prop and try as hard as you can to turn the prop

Just make sure you don’t start the engine first.

The DNR should pass a regulation banning northerns from having Y bones. If they did that, more people would keep more northerns because they’d be easier to filet.

“Paalksnis told a warden that he had been selling bags of fish in Chicago for about 20 years, according to the reports.”

Sounds like a job for the IRS.

I still use my old Clam Fish Trap that must be at least 20 years old. I guess they just don’t make ’em like they used to.

Congrats to the guy on getting a deal. I hope he’s successful.

That said, it’s just another trinket in a sea of trinkets that are sold to outdoorsmen and women every day. We buy it because they make it.

Young kids don’t recognize daylight savings time. All it means is that we’ll get an extra hour to get them ready for daycare in the morning.

Thanks guys. I’ll be out at the community hole tonight around 8:00.

If you hear anyone yelling like a teenage girl meeting Justin Bieber, it will be my brother with a fish. He always acts stupid like that. I don’t know why I even bring him anymore.

I’m heading out tonight for the first time this fall. What’s the hottest menu item on the St Croix right now? Shad? Crawlers? Surf & Turf?

    Being in the right spot.
    Tight lines.
    Time.

    Always shad.

Let’s hypothetically pretend that I don’t have access to shad. Are they showing a preference to anything else right now?

My favorite ambassadeur round reel is one that starts with “SHI” and ends with “MANO”.

How many people that responded “no guns in the house” to the pollsters actually have some? I’m betting it was a fair number.

I know when I’m asked, my response is “I don’t own any”. I’m certainly not going to give any unnecessary info to some nosy polling company who has no business knowing what I own.

I haven’t named my boat, but my fish house is named “The Dizzy Minnow”

I’ll let you guys draw your own conclusions.

If the person is a new shooter, I highly recommend against getting a semi-auto to start with. The follow up shots come too fast and a new shooter won’t have the discipline to reacquire the bird.

Go with a pump or an over-under to start with.

The not shedding thing isn’t always the case. If it’s a first generation labradoodle (1 lab parent and 1 poodle parent), it will shed you a sweater about once a day. If it’s a 2nd gen or later (both parents are labradoodles), it won’t shed.

I’ve got a 10 year old labradoodle who won’t fetch anything and sheds like a husky. She’s a sweet dog, though.

Some of the “inspectors” aren’t very bright either.

I was fishing Mantrap a few years ago and there was a boat in line in front of me getting inspected before they launched. The inspector was some prematurely grey-haired granola hippie with her Prius in the parking lot.

Upon inspecting their boat, she discovered that they still had a full live well and told them to drain it . . . right there at the ramp so all of the old live well water could go right into the lake. doah

When it was my turn to be inspected, she happened to find a tiny piece of cabbage that had been caught inside the plastic cover of the spare trolling motor. That motor hasn’t touched water the entire time I’ve had the boat (8 years or so) but she made me take out my tool box, take apart the trolling motor, and remove the 4″ long piece of prehistoric weed and put it in the garbage can. smash

If you’re using it for sturgeon, one of the Abu 6500 will work fine. If you’re using it for muskies, I don’t recommend it because the pinion yoke is plastic and it has a tendency to burn out after a few thousand casts and retrieves. It’s a cheap and easy fix, but it sucks when it happens when you’re on the water.

If you’re looking for a muskie reel, you can’t go wrong with the Shimano 400 series (B, D, TE, etc). As Pat said, they are bullet proof. They don’t make the TE model anymore, but I can pull mag dawgs, double 10s, etc with minimal effort with mine. If you can find a used 400 TE, I’d snatch it up. One word of caution, though. The Shimano rep told me that they’re going to (or already have) stop making parts for the 400 te.

A giant Jackpot has put more fish in my boat than all other lure types combined. Those fish have come at all times of day and in all weather conditions.

Now that I think about it, I haven’t thrown a Jackpot in quite a while and I don’t know why. That needs to change.
