I have the Panoptix live view and I can get 11hrs-17min run time on a charge. The weight and the swivel mount for the Panoptix transducer is a portable issue. But for what this unit can do its feasible. LX9 is nice but the camera option is seldom used.

Bearcat89, yes I feel the Garmin Panoptix has the ability to be a complete game changer in the ice fishing world. However I never used ice fishing yet, but from my experience on the open water doing my little tests and what it can do. Can’t even begin to realize what it’s going to do on the ice… This I can’t wait for. But the price is hard to swallow going for $1800 complete package. You can build a package buying pieces separate. One of the pluses is the ability to have dock stations and using one head unit. For example you can have a panoptix transducer mounted on your boat, and have another portable. Just use the 1 head unit for both with 2 different dock stations. It does come with the tradition transducer but in all honest your getting it for the panoptix option. Now for the price I did a lot of research in finding a good price. Amazon has the unit for sale at $1799 but if you watch it, will bounce back and forth to $1652 like one day it’s at $1652 and then that same day it’s gone and back at $1799. I found Ebay to suck in a deal, did have a guy selling used at $1400 but that lasted like 4 min.. I called Garmin directly, and they do not run a sale on this unit. Also talked with a sale rep from Garmin and asked about the up coming show on November 30 at the Minneapolis Ice Expo. They will have a special and this price was not discussed, but from past experiences it will most likely be credit towards Garmin gear not off the unit itself. I got my unit from and dealer called “Boat Doctor” in Lamira, Wi. For $1500 so that’s a good starting point. Also in the looking to purchase I found it confusing on what all comes in the package deals so if your looking to purchase the ice bundle that does have the Swivel kit which is needed.. so if anyone is interested in this unit, it is feel worth the price for its ability and what it can do, I hope this info can help others…

Also sorry for the late reply. I just purchased the Garmin Panoptix this summer and put it through a few tests on my own. Battery life in continue use while catfishing 11hr 17min run time on panoptix rigged over the side of the boat. Also had a vexlar fl8, Marcum LX7 and a Humminbird Helix 5 rigged up over the side of the boat. I had no issues on the panoptix with interference on the Garmin screen, can’t say much for the others together though. Had issues with Interference on the others But I do find the weight of the Garmin to be an up coming issue. And attaching the panoptix to the swivel mount and moving around on the ice, bulky. But for what this unit can do and its ability to find fish… well it’s worth it.

I just purchased the Garmin Panoptix live view for this year. So far playing around with the setting and such, but as far as the battery life. I have had it running solid for 11 hours and 17 min. Catfishing already. I do find the weight of the unit to be an issue on the ice, and the swivel mount assembly to use the panoptix transducer a slight bulky mess. But for what it does and how it can help in finding the schools or even single fish, it’s worth it. Also the price tag is hard to swallow at $1800 but I got it for New for $1500 just gotta do some home work in finding the deal.
