I wish you the best. I can’t get my mom or mywife one the ice. Take my parents in the summer some and finally got my wife out this last year again(she beat me up bad). Got my dad out early before he went on a trip this year and we picked the right day and place and smoked them by Detroit Lakes. Good luck and good memories!

Thanks for turning me onto the slender spoons. Helped fill the hole in the ice many times yesterday. Caught some of everything with it and a minnow head and a silver and green.

Had a muskrat decided to move in under my father-in-laws house one week. I was happy I had installed covers over his spearing hole and angling holes so it did not get inside. However I was opening it up on a Fri night so that it would be ready for Sat morning. I had pulled my pickup up to the door for some light, opened the door and was welcomed with stemmed weeds, and upon opening the spear hole realized I was on about 3-4 inches of ice. My brother and one of his buddies came and helped me do a midnight house move. We marked the area to keep everyone off so no one would go through since everyone was driving out to their houses.

I’ve been thinking the 6×8 for myself and my 2 girls would be nice. It is nice to hear that the Cabela’s version is good since I have only seen them on-line. Also the idea that they ship out so nice is great since sooner or later we have to get the cold they are now predicting–can’t wait!

Most of the time I’ld have a second or third set of adult hands since my old man has a team wild flip hse. I noticed that the clam and cabela’s (basically the samething) have the option of the floor so I figure down the road it will probably an add on. I had a shoremaster that I picked up but I hated all the poles and holes that would open up and fill with snow. It was also awfully slippery on first ice and slippery on the inside. Thanks for the advice from a beginner on this site.

I don’t think the floor is in the budget this year. My girls are 7 and 10, but they tend to be good while we are fishing. But things happen even to use big kids. How bad do they flap in the wind?
