right on same belief here, except i missed big ones both of my first 2 years, it was a sad story on both of them and that is why i have been jinxed ever since.
January 29, 2003 at 6:16 pm #251143I agree with flick in the fact that i also am fortunate enough to hunt buffalo county. They are big because yes land is posted, but what else are you going to do to get them that way?
Big bucks get big for reasons, and people in this county take pride in their big trophies and that is why we have big bucks because many older people practice some sort of QDM. I believe that a youngster should be able to shoot any deer that makes them happy. Otherwise they might not get into the sport. But after a while your expectations of yourself move up. Like most people here in buffalo county. I missed my deer of a lifetime this year, but more of it all i just had fun seeing the deer so close. It is just so hard to believe that an animal can grow to the specifications that they do. It is more fun seeing them in the wild than sporting them on the wall I think, but you have to have something to show for the animal you got.January 29, 2003 at 5:48 am #251125i highly agree with you bigdog, that is definately one of the things i have always thought and hoped that they put into effect. you would think that they could be able to put it to 15 that is still a considerable amount of fish.
January 23, 2003 at 5:12 pm #250925maybe you need to put more hip thrust into into it Maybe you just need some good practice at it!!!!
January 23, 2003 at 5:08 am #250900it should be tought somewhere but it would be hard to get the people that should be going going. My dad is a driver’s ed teacher and i know the last thing he would want to do would be to teach ice safety seminar’s because if someone is dumb enough to think they are immortal to it well that is their problem. it could be tought but the right people that need it wouldn’t show up and driver’s ed is not the right course for it. hunter’s education should be one if anything.
January 15, 2003 at 8:22 pm #250424yeah it is just to sad to think of it. but oh well @#$@#$ happens, i guess. it should definately be good to go now taking a four wheeler over. definately a snowmobile from anwhere, but just keep on the throttle the whole way.
January 15, 2003 at 8:16 pm #250421i have already been fishing in water ranging from 4 to 25 feet of water, it seems to help a lot more in the deeper water becuase you catch mor fish that you normally wouldn’t catch, i already can realize that, but even though it is only 4 feet it helps out a lot, you wouldn’t believe the amount of fish that come up and look at your bait and just go away, and some of the fish come from like 2 feet away on a bullet and just go for it, i love it already.
December 17, 2002 at 2:33 pm #249272i had a guy tell me that even though the top of the ice doesn’t look so hot that there is still some good supporting ice underneath it. He said there was about five inches. that was by winona.
December 13, 2002 at 6:43 pm #249194either there or the ace hardware right below the bridge there coming from wisconsin.
December 13, 2002 at 2:38 pm #249188I prefer round, and i usually like to go with brown, or a light blue. I tie them myself and i like to add a little bit more hair than normal so they have that slow drop and you feel the the big ole wam. Actually, if you are looking at your line in like slow motion you can see it get pulled out a little bit when the fish strikes and that is when you lay into them.
December 13, 2002 at 2:35 pm #249186i fly at the airport a lot and there has been just a ton of guys out there fishing, it seemed to be that they were catching fish with the ones that i saw on the ice. didn’t get a good look to see what they were, but they were catching some. Ice seemed to be pretty strong but i don’t know about now, it still should be ok.
December 12, 2002 at 3:39 pm #249153Hey I know of a bass fisherman who does not want to get sponsored at all because he doesn’t want to have to put up with all of the nonsense that goes with it. He is a Bass fishermen and fishes all the big bass tourneys and he doesn’t believe in being sponsored. He buys everyhting on his own including his brand new ranger and numurous amnounts of gear. It isn’t that fact that he doesn’t have the chances to get sponsorship, but it is just that he doesn’t want to be sponsored by anyone, also i don’t think that these guys are going to put their info across the web jus tdue to the fact that like someone stated before they don’t want to have bad relationships or scare off more sponsorships to come, but if you want to sponsor me just let me know and i will tell you where to send the check.
December 12, 2002 at 3:32 pm #249152I know a couple of guys that have the go devils and they say that they will not go for anytihng other than that for duck hunting.
December 12, 2002 at 3:24 pm #249151put the disc brakes on, my grandpa had the same problem with his boat and then he put on disc brakes and the problem has only happened to him once, and that could be because he doesn’t let the water drain out.
December 12, 2002 at 3:20 pm #249150good point com15 doesn’t seem like it makes any sense here on this way either they should just ban them both.
December 12, 2002 at 3:16 pm #249149There were quit a few people on the dike road between nelson and wabasha, talked to a few of them and some had good luck while others didn’t, one said that you really had to work for them. A good key on that road is to look for a red and silver blazer about a 93 that is your key.
December 12, 2002 at 3:13 pm #249146sounds good, i think i will be up there either friday afternoon or saturday during the day. If you see a crestliner with a couple guys in there feel free to say hi, we might have to turn the music down a little bit though

December 12, 2002 at 3:59 am #249129thankx guys i have used a clear water classic before and they are ok, but not what i am looking for , i think the vexilar fl8 st might be ringing my bell now with those responses, i would be willing to put up with that buzzing noise, that doesn’t bother me, if it means better production, i am still up for any new info though so please inform me, this is like Ice fish finders 101
December 11, 2002 at 7:49 pm #249103i dunno maybe you could get someone to walk out there and jump up and down and take a bunch of weight out there if you payed him enough with how warm it has been.
December 10, 2002 at 6:28 pm #249072i caught one in the wabasha marina once but it was the only one and i thought it was a pretty rare feat.
November 18, 2002 at 3:30 am #248170the rockers that i have still been gettin are still the good ones. it is just hard to find though but some local places around here still have them
November 18, 2002 at 3:27 am #248169most people just go down to the buffalo city landing, if you have a faster boat that is your best bet, pushing your boat across the ice can be dangerous so if you do that watch out
