You and me both. Virtually nothing but a nuisance these days.

So it’s literally just a soft plastic and it costs that much? Is it at least a pack of them?

At first glance I figured it was a panfish plastic. I’d definitely try a 1/4”-1/2” diameter one through the ice!

I must be missing something on those Ego slider nets. Neighbor left one in my boat and after using it its horrible. Round handle, heavy and the extending feature is useless while fishing alone. Might be a better net if you have someone netting your fish.

They don’t have very good reviews online either from what I see.

Now if only my golf swing was what it was before kids and marriage

You sure talk like an old man for only being in your 30’s there, packer. devil

Couple more days of nasty, then pretty decent for the next week. Almost 50 by Tuesday. I’ll welcome it with open arms.

I was a little relieved it wasn’t sniffing for the fish whistle.

Why, it’s just some harmless(and now legal) vegetation.

Now, Eurasian milfoil on the other hand… The true devil’s lettuce.

Also, all a kid has to do is say they didn’t bring it today or that they left it somewhere or let their friend borrow it, all the while it’s in their pocket or backpack. What’s a teacher/staff member gonna do, pat them down? Make them walk thru phone detector devices? Wand them down with a cellphone wand?

Just too tough to enforce for government and schools IMO.

Teacher here as well. Have tried the phone caddy thing (my high school says phones should be put away during class but no real teeth and many teachers don’t follow) and it’s a hassle. 75% of kids are good about it but you get the ones who are always trying to get around it and as a teacher it becomes a pain in the rear to police and I’d rather worry about teaching than be a cell phone cop. The schools I’ve heard of “banning” them seem to have positive reports, often times kids even report that they enjoy feeling free from them. Appalling how many parents text/IG their kids all day long while they’re at school. Sad how many kids don’t even talk to any peers at school, just play on their phone every free second.
I teach upper level science classes and it is sad to see how many kids who “struggle” or say a class is “too hard” or that a teacher isn’t good spend every free second mindlessly staring at their phone and I don’t think really ever study. Mind you, plenty of kids still do work hard and do what they need to do well. So many kids rush through the work so they can get back to playing on their phone “well I’m done with my work” and you look at the work they’ve done and it’s total garbage. That’s my biggest beef with the phones, no attention span and attention to detail on their learning. And yes, the amount of phone/social media drama our administrators have to deal with is disgusting. Plenty of research out there that anxiety and depression are way up in kids since smartphones came about. I can’t imagine if I would have had one of those things in my hands 24 hours a day when I was 13.

Appreciate the response and perspective. Thanks for what you do, too!

    Haha that didn’t take long.

I’ve only been in Ontario personally so can’t comment on the others.

Not a very smart coyote hunter.

    No doubt!

And what was it doing way down there? That’s more than a little out of their range…

I should say last time out, there was atleast 4-5 drones flying around. Most likely spying on people. As everytime they would pause over us for 30 seconds. Should be illegal for multiple reasons. Lowest of low in my opinion.

Sounds like it’s time to invest in a high powered net-launcher peace moon

A more interesting theory that i recently heard is based on AI growth it will become powerful enough soon to create worlds within it. And then those worlds will eventually also create AI and be able to create worlds. So the thought is are we the first ones or are we in an AI world? Kind of interesting but I dont buy it personally.

    MIND=BLOWN

And it ties right into simulation theory!

We’re in trouble, societally. They’re not learning anything, behaviors are out of control and damn near every teacher I know (not an exaggeration) wants to quit.

Homeschooling is the answer! Screw having the public school system shove their garbage down kids throats.

You’re the reason we want to quit.

Uhhh… am I missing something here?

    Grouse:
“The kids have to keep their cell phones in no-access pouches that are locked as they come in the door in the morning.”

My question is: how can they be sure the kids put the phones in there and don’t just sneak them in?

Maybe the RAM guy can sort this out for us.

I don’t think he’s allowed to come out and play anymore.

Oh I’m sure he’ll be back under a different name if he isn’t already.

You think u were fishing a weed flat? Do u have a map app or paper map? Or a depth finder/graph/flasher? It’s not hard to tell if you are in weeds.

I know some guys stay shallow majority of the time but I’d definitely be looking for crappies in deeper water right now.

We were getting them in 26’-30’ last weekend a little further north of there. Plain old basin fishing. Started an hour or two after dark and caught them until about midnight. Small aggressive schools would come thru about every 10-15 mins, didn’t feel like hole hopping.

JEEEEZ… that was quite the snappy reply Randy, that must have gotten under your skin. You didn’t specify in your original post so I can see why net man said that! Why does your work have a truck like that anyways?

As far as the gargantuan grocery getters, yeah way over the top. People who drive them definitely are compensating for at least something…

It’s funny my 4.0 v6 4Runner barely gets better than that. Usually 15.5-16.5mpg. I think my record was 18 something..

That cul de sac bud light commercial wasn’t bad.

Ha, yeah I was thinking that too. One of the very few decent ones.

Man those eagles are not to be taken lightly.

I hope that new classified ad for an onlyfans subscription was legit…

The seller was apparently a female by the name of “Deb Dallas”

I wish Budweiser would get back to making good commercials. They never have made a good beer but their commercials were very good for years.

I agree. Bud Light, Doritos, and Pepsi also had some decent ones in the past. Seems like the commercials lately are just bad, and I never really watched it for that reason anyways.

They’ve been pretty horrible thus far.

Heard the hype about Doritos taking advantage of the whole ufo/uap situation so was looking forward to that, as they and snickers usually have some of the best. Welp, just saw it last commercial break and it was a total dud IMO… They biffed it on a very unique opportunity!

And who ever is singing the National Anthem will NOT be able to do it better than Reba or Chris Stapleton.

He hit a very… interesting… note at the end there lol
