I heard 4-5″ there. West end had 4-7″ where I was yesterday checking.

I’m on the ice as much as anyone I know and have been wearing my arctic mucks for the last 5 years. I have nicks and cuts from the ice auger blade and they still work great! I had inferno 2000’s but everytime you drill a hole the leather gets wet, that turns to ice and makes for a cold boot. My mucks shed water!
November 27, 2012 at 11:21 pm #1115498Main bay just froze over today. Creel bay and six mile froze over Sunday. West end froze over as far as I know sometime on Thurs-Fri but there were just a few open spots before that. Pelican has had ice for at least 10 days. I will be out tomorrow checking ice on some back bays and sloughs.
June 30, 2012 at 7:21 pm #1080164May 22, 2012 at 5:51 pm #1070151I have had 3-day trips where I’ve cleaned a limit of walleye, pike and white bass for 3 guys and not been tipped. I have also had days where we do everything just to scratch out a limit in 8 hours, and been tipped excellent. Its up to the customer to decide. If the trip is worth it enough for you to give a little extra, leave a tip.
May 16, 2012 at 2:45 pm #1068575I use the 3″ pumpkinseed fry a lot on Devils Lake. They hold up great when you are dealing with all the pesky 8-12″ fish. I use alot of 5″ gulp leeches on slow death hooks, works great.

Slipbobber84, What are go to colors for spoons on Devils lake ? Thanks
Whatever the fish are biting on!! I usually start with chart. or glow red colors because thats what I have the most confidence in, and more often than not I dont switch all day.
December 19, 2011 at 4:09 pm #1019151A few guys starting to drive half tons on the west end of the lake, althought I wouldnt recommend it yet. 10-14″ everywhere I have been over there. The main bay has up to 8″ but thats always iffy, especially when it hasn’t been real cold yet. I havent heard anything about the east side.
December 17, 2011 at 5:46 pm #1018667No I can’t say i’ve noticed anything, and I have all 3 batteries in the front!
December 17, 2011 at 7:36 am #1018555Yeah, I run 36 volt….any less than that in the North Dakota wind and you will be whining at the end of the day!
December 17, 2011 at 1:14 am #1018478I have one, it is an ’07 and will be for sale after the new year! Love fishing out of it! So much room. They could configure the seating better, as well as widen the boat a bit IMO. When you get 3 seats plus the driver it gets pretty crammed in the cockpit! Mine has the 175 opti on it and I can run 48-49 max by myself. Tourney load I can get about 46ish. It cuts through waves real nice too being as narrow as it is. More storage than you will ever need, and two huge livewells!

December 5, 2011 at 3:51 pm #1014608Currently sitting between 5-8″ on the west and north end. The main lake was still open last Friday. I haven’t heard anything about the east end. All little lakes connected to Devils have 7″ avg on them from what I have heard.
December 2, 2011 at 4:35 pm #10139296-7″ and building! Catching eyes morning and evenings on some close walkable spots.
December 1, 2011 at 5:20 pm #1013649Melt some sweet cream butter. Roll the ‘strap in the butter to cover it. Let the butter “set up.” Salt/Pepper or Montreal steak seasoning onto the ‘strap Get grill to 500+. Throw it on the grill for 5 or so mins per side to get that baby Med. rare and thats about as good as it gets!

April 18, 2011 at 3:36 pm #9583266’9 MLF Elite Tech with an arbor reel has been one of my favorite crank combos. The rod quality doesnt have to be nothing spendy, anything 6’6-7’6 with ML or M action works well. I would spend the money on a good reel and load that up with 6-14lb superline depending on where you’re fishing.
April 11, 2011 at 11:11 pm #956129Back in, fire up the motor, put it in forward, walk up and unhook the chains. Done deal.
June 30, 2010 at 11:59 pm #883809The new colors rock. They are putting a pile of fish in the boat right now on Devils Lake. Golden Shiner, Perch, Bluegill and Redtail have all been great casting in the shallows. The new yellow perch color was putting a lot of fish in the boat until I lost the last one I was left with. Cant wait to get more.
April 14, 2010 at 5:09 pm #863761Take it to a shop and have them diagnose it. I had the same problems last winter. Mine ended up being the transfer case motor. As I was chipping ice away from the driveshaft(noticed a shaking down the road) I accidentally hit the wiring harness to the transfer case motor from the control module and when I hit the 4wd button it shorted out the motor. It was an easy diagnoses once it was hooked up and the codes ran.
April 14, 2010 at 4:47 pm #863757These were all caught the last week of January. The fish in the second picture was tagged, my first.
