I never take my cleats off of my boots. I ride to and from the lake in crocks.

Update, a buddy texted that yesterday three guys fell through at a local pool 7 backwater lake. (Third Lake)
January 26, 2024 at 8:45 am #2250063I was out on pool 7 backwaters the last couple days. There was maybe 4-5” but it was deteriorating rapidly.
February 6, 2023 at 9:46 am #2179279I’ll be coming up to the Pheasant Fest at the Minneapolis Convention Center on the 18th if that works for anyone.
February 6, 2023 at 4:09 am #2179203I’ve got 4 like new Okuma Ceymar 10’s for sale in the classifieds.
February 5, 2023 at 9:39 pm #2179194Just curious don’t like the Ceymar’s??
I think they are great. I find I just use my inlines for everything I do in the backwaters. I have a couple Stradic 1000’s on my ultralight (summer) rods, so if I need a spinning reel for ice fishing I’ll just use them. I need to thin the herd.

Gone hunting, resend your pm. I don’t have it in my inbox.
January 22, 2023 at 2:31 pm #2175386Need a new drill for home use and it would be a backup for my dedicated ice auger. Looking at both Dewalt and Milwaukee and wondering why the Milwaukee 2804’s always are shown being used with the side handle on the right? I would guess that it can be mounted on either side, or not? Seems awkward for someone that’s right handed to operate the drill’s trigger with the left hand or is there a reason to do that?
Bassn Dan, I’ve got a lightly used Milwaukee with the handle, case, etc that I’m looking to sell. Send me a private message if you’re interested.
January 20, 2023 at 10:10 am #2175026A few. The worst was having two Cabela’s fish eagle spinning rods which at the time were very nice rods get whacked at the same time by a ceiling fan. Both broke on the first fish.
January 20, 2023 at 8:05 am #2174989The other day I snapped and bought a 24v Strikemaster on sale. It will be great for the river backwaters I fish. Going to resell my pistol bit and M18 fuel. I use my 12v drill for everything around here anyway.
January 19, 2023 at 6:46 am #2174673Interesting idea. Bring some cocktail sauce and if it doesn’t work eat the the shrimp.
January 17, 2023 at 10:43 am #2174313Years ago I was fishing in a little blue Minute Man shack and it was real windy. I was getting buffeted by some strong gusts. Then a real big gust blasted through and the top crossbar went right down the hole. There it was sticking straight up on the bottom of the lake. Of course attempts to snag it were futile. My brother in law and a friend were on a shanty next to me and when they heard me bellow loudly they thought I had lost a big fish. I wasn’t hard to make a new one out of conduit.
January 13, 2023 at 12:47 pm #2173462Clam Spooler elite tip, Find some old baitcaster handles and modify to fit the spooler elite. Great reels, hate the single handle. You will love teh double handle as it balances out and the handle doesnt swing to the bottom all the time.
That’s a great tip, wormdunker. It addresses my one minor complaint about the reel. The handle swings down at times and you lose your depth setting a little. I’m going to try it.
January 13, 2023 at 5:59 am #2173279Never been a huge Clam fan myself but these Spooler Elites are the best performing reels I’ve found for my backwaters. They just work and I never have tangles.
January 11, 2023 at 8:47 am #2172656I don’t know for sure but I suppose the back to back MVP seasons prior to this one has something to do with it.
January 10, 2023 at 6:39 pm #2172545For some reason I think the whole Rogers situation will be decided much sooner this off=season than in the past. I don’t know why being who we are talking about here ( Drama Queen that He is ) but for some reason I feel like this will be resolved much sooner this year.
I agree. Trust me, we Packer fans are burned out by his drama.
January 9, 2023 at 6:33 pm #2172282Pack fan. I hope Rodgers retires. I think he’s hit the wall. The Pack will be mediocre for the foreseeable future and I give Detroit credit too. They are definitely on the rise.
January 8, 2023 at 4:31 pm #2172047Big fan of the Clam Elite Spooler. Much more trouble free than a free fall type. Stripping line keeps it straighter too.
April 23, 2022 at 7:32 am #2118515I think a lot of basic manners have gotten worse since the social media/internet war zones have taken shape. It’s easy to disrespect people on the net and it’s contagious for many. Definitely not a generational thing.
April 21, 2022 at 8:01 am #2117953Light action rod and spinning or spincast reel loaded with braid. I figure I can only use one rod with one presentation in an area and switch presentations (rarely) when I move to deeper water.
Last week I logged 150 fish caught in two consecutive days in water 4′ or less. No point in carrying more rods unless I had a line problem (i.e.bad tangle coming off the spinning reel). You’re way too practical. Making us look bad!
