“The best alternative is to go to a hmong grocery and put up a sign. the hmong eat the birds and have their kids trap them.”

    Stuwest,
What a racist comment … I thought that people on this site would be more educated…
Yes, hmong people do eat bird, but who doesn’t. I bet that there more white folk who eat them (as they are the one raising them). Trapping pigeons to eat… I never heard of such rumors, even rednecks don’t do this.

    Away from these uneducated assumption…
If you are looking for pigeons, try craiglist… Best and easiest way to get anything these day.

Nice looking fish. We normally catch a couple jumbo out there in the past years early in the season. The biggest I seen was about 16″ which was a monster.

I normally fish the float but this year with the weird weather, it seem other location/places are ahead on my to fishing list.

Not sure on SD but ND doesn’t have a closed season for pikes and eyes (well for the most part of ND).

Is this something that you do on free time or is it a profession?

    Looks great.

I would suggest Mono/Fluoro for shallow water and braid when going deeper…

I ran into issue when fishing 15+ FOW where mono and fluoro just dont cut it (on feel) and have to switch to a braid.

BLS seem to be slow for crappies for me now. We’re hitting them a month ago.. Now, it seem you can get a couples if you can find them. Tullies on the other hand been a blast.

2# line on a quiverstick… Nothing like a hard fighting fish on light line.

I would say a 1/16 oz gold lindy flyer.. Love the rattles.. Also seem to twist less as compare to some other spoon…

    That
    or a gold/silver Diamond jigs (CJ&S) in size 10.

    Question guys:
Is it common to catch a whitefish or two for a trip on Big Winnie? Never seen or caught one before…

Also, is the water clarity ideal for under water camera use? Nothing beat fishing tullies on camera.

    Hey James,

How far out from the resort did you guys station at? Look like some fun action since the eye season is over…

Try the reset James mentioned above, working now. Tested it about 1/2 a dozen times (power on… Power off…)

I’ll test it again later, but seem like that did the trick.

I did call the guys at Marcum, didn’t get much trouble shooting tips as the guy just told me to bring it in…

    To James
Saved me a 20 min drive.

    Marcum VS Vexilar…

    Marcum (likes):

    -Moveable zoom

    -LCD display (LX-7)

    -Target Adjust (LX-7)

    -Best IR system

    Vexilar(likes):

    -Add on accessories (>>flex light<<)

-Fit inside a 5 gallon bucket (Ultra pack)

-Longer battery life – use less juice (just from experience, not proven)

These are key items that I have found or notices from both system.

    (Note:

    Marcum:

    From owning a LX-5 and now a LX-7.

    Vexilar:

Using an Fl-12 and FL-18 unit (did own any of these only used from family and friend)

Great customer support once again. Drop by after work, John from Marcum support had a spear head (with scratches on LCD screen ) waiting for me to swap. When I ask if there was a better condition unit (my was just bought a couple of weeks ago – used twice)Chris assured me that they will work on a better condition unit comes next week (due to my need for a flasher this weekend).

Was happy that I will have a flasher to use this weekend for some crappies action up north … Also over heard Mike and Chris talking about the lack of phone calls about the upgrade, I guess mine was just the rotten egg out of the hundreds of unit out there.

Just spoken to Marcum support, will be bringing in the unit to be check. John from Marcum support thinks that the unit may have been locked (or something similar to that) from the upgrade.

    Thanks…

    Question:

I upgraded my LX-7 last night and I can’t seem to power the flasher up now. I was just using the unit a few days ago and was working great. Any chances that the during the upgrade, something went wrong to prevent my unit from powering?
