I mounted one on a Lithium Shuttle last year. I tapped new holes in the humminbird mounting bracket to match the holes on the shuttle. They also make an adapter for the Humminbird power cord. Just put a couple of crimp style wire joints on and haven’t had any issues. I have run into the issue that the battery reading on the helix unit is off. I find the battery reading on the shuttle to be much more accurate. I don’t have a soft case so I can’t speak to it fitting into one.

We fished Garrison Bay on Monday and experienced the same. Only managed 2 fish in about 5 hours. Marked a lot of them down there but couldn’t get them to bite.

With the cold front coming this week won’t be long and we will be venturing out a little farther… grin grin grin

We went out of the public landing on the south side of Garrison on Monday. There was a solid 5-6 inches of ice about 150yds. There was a crack in the ice that looked a little sketchy but ended up being pretty easy to cross. However once on the other side of the crack there was a large area of 2-3 inches of ice before getting farther out and find 5-6 again. So needless to say things are a little spotty. It was so windy while we were fishing I don’t see the snow that fell having much if any affect on the ice getting thicker. After the next few cold nights I would guess there will be plenty of ATV’s out and about.

    As for the Fishing….

I bought one of the GoPro Sessions about 6 months ago. The Session is on the lower end of the cost scale for a GoPro and I would say it is worth every penny. If you take a few minutes and learn some of the features available on the camera it makes the editing process much easier. Like for example while the camera is running there is an option to tag portions of your video. If you simple push one of the two buttons on the camera it creates a marker on your video that makes finding and editing the parts you want much easier and faster.

I take mine with me every time I hit the lake and am considering getting a second one.

Like others have said there is a learning curve but like anything else the more you learn about it the more you get out of it.

I would tell anyone that is considering getting a camera to go for it. There are a lot of very reasonable cameras on the market (including GoPros) that one could get to try it out and still not have a huge investment into. In case it doesn’t end up interesting you in the end.

    FryDog62, Sorry for you loss.

Smallmouths are schooling up on the river. Big suckers worked the best if you can stand the cold.

I bought a GoPro this spring and just set it up in the boat and let it role while we fish. It creates great memories that do a great job of catching a lot more of the emotions that go with fishing.

If a picture is worth a thousand words a video is worth a million.

I have made several videos this summer and they are incredibly easy to edit and share. In my opinion it really enhances my love to fish.
