The RV dealers at the show were part of the metro ever dealers association that used to have a show at US Bank stadium. Ever since camping world bought half the RV dealers in the state, they don’t put on much of a show imo.
For us old timers, I remember quite a few rvs at the show 30 years ago, when you could spend all day at the show, get great deals on merchandise and walk out with a bag full of brochures from tons of resorts and chambers of commerce.
With the space they have down there, I wish they would spread out the retailers across the back a bit so you had more room to navigate. I know it costs so much for a ten foot booth, but it’s by far the biggest draw.

Went with wife and kids Saturday am. Fairly busy.
I’d say 1/3 of the floor was RVs. About 4-5 rows were retail/ exhibition and about 1/2 was boats and docks.
Didn’t really check out many boats because prices are just too much, especially in our crazy economy right now. Skeeter display had 4 2060s lined up together- thought that was overkill.
RV area had tons of couples type campers too. We wanted to see more family friendly bunkhouse styles, since this used to be a family geared show.
Retail was too busy to look around a lot. I only saw 3 big names down there. Joes, Reeds, and Thornes. Nothing like it used to be.
Not even a lot of booths like each rod manufacturer and rapala type booths. I was hoping to pick Berkley’s mind on discontinuing my favorite line.
All in all, had a good walk around, but not what it used to be when I worked there a few years ago.

Important stuff…. Rise bet on baseball, period. He accepted the ban from Commissioner Gianatti. Too bad, he was a great player.
Is the presidential pardon needed after he death?
I guess I’d rather see my egg prices go down.

Don, as far as being “screwed”, do you have examples from his first term that screwed the average person??

When the administration changed the tax laws in 2017 or 2018, they took away the many of the working persons write-offs such as equipment and tool purchases, union dues, and license fees. Instead they increased the standard deduction. Now in my case, that meat I lost approximately 10-15k in write offs, while the barista at Starbucks working part time, got the same deduction I did. Their refund went up on a percentage basis, while mine went up quite a bit. For the blue collar working class, that was a real hit in the pocket book.

Total tool off 94 and Snelling in St Paul might be able to take care of it.

I’m surprised he’s not trying to sell his fishing spots that he always stole from someone else!

Hey guys, revisiting this one with a question. If I upgrade to a new lithium battery in my ultra pack, do I need to make a switch to the charging wiring? I’m considering the vex lithium or possibly an Amped battery.
    Thanks in advance!

25% tariff won’t help the prices of BRP products in 2025.

Switched to USAA from Farmers about 5 years ago. Saved us at least 25%. Had to claim hail damage on 2 vehicles and the house within 6 weeks of switching. They were excellent to deal with. Rates have gone up, like all other companies, but I am still very satisfied.

I used to make a lot of trips from the cities to Cedar Rapids, and the area around Chester, IA always had a bunch of dead roadkills. I also saw a couple get smoked there on trips. So much that I tried to make sure I was through there well before dusk.

The guy that bought it is a BS salesman with a mouth full of samples.
Saw a quote he gave after the foreclosure was done that the road construction killed the business. You could still get there, and if he would’ve had product, the people would still come like they always did.
You just can’t spend big dollars on remodel and fancy trucks with wraps and not having the cash coming in.

West Union has 2, Strawberry Point has 2, Fayette -1, Hazelton -2, Postville – 2, Oelwein has 3

I have seen both cameras in Postville. Are the rest marked as close as Postvilles so you don’t even have time to brake before you smile for the camera?
If them put them at the bottom of the hill in Guttenberg, I’ll be sending them a check.

Been traveling through Northeast Iowa for nearly 50 years. I know all the towns and where cops loved to set up speed traps on most of my route, and when to slow down in the small town 20 mph zones.
Last year, I spotted a sign saying there was cameras in use in Postville- I had already slowed down. About 200 yards later is the radar and camera. Geez nothing like a heads up. I’d say that one’s a money maker.
Apparently Strawberry Point has one too. A relative found out the hard way there.
Anybody know of a map showing speed camera locations throughout the state?

Back in those days, the max HP for any tiller boat was about 90. Maybe the YarCraft 1895 was rated for 115? Not until the Ranger 620 tiller came out was a boat rated for 115. When Mertens hydraulic and Warrior hydraulic steering came about, tiller HP ratings went up.
Pretty sure that that boat is probably maxed out at 80 HP, 90 tops.
You can run the 100 HP, but you may not be able to insure it.

Store has been closed since July 1st. Saw a news report saying the big blow hard that bought the place was being sued for foreclosure of his loan.
He did get rid of all the good staff in the months leading up to it. He must have thought he knew everything, except how to run a business.

I’m crossing my fingers that my 2015 Sierra lasts. I did replace the tranny lines. GM updated that part over the last couple years, it seems they all leak.
On another note, how do you like the Michelin Defender tires? Going go get rid of my noisy Cooper LT tires soon. Hoping I can find a quieter tire with a little higher load rating than 114.

Do you guys with the 6.2L use the 91 octane gas? I thought that’s what you needed to use with that motor?

Another vote for the Ridgid vacs. We use them at work and I have a 16 gallon at home that gets used for everything. Love the car kit that came with it.
If you can hold out, HD may have a deal during their spring Black Friday event that is fast approaching.

It seems like very few of their products even have Gore Tex in it anymore. I still think of Gore Tex as the gold standard for rain gear and for good hunting clothing.

No that was filmed by a sprinkler fitter. Former apprentice of mine. He stopped by my house today and showed me the video and said he was being contacted for permission to post it.

A friend just bought a Savage 220 at Capra’s and he said they had a bunch of boxes of 20 gauge 3 inch Accutips.
No matter what others say, there’s no other slug that can reach out like Accutip does. 150 yards is easy and if you’re good, 200 is reachable with accuracy.

Capra’s in Blaine always has Lake Fork ring fry’s. Yes they have been a staple bait for years!

Fryin saucer is still in business. A friend bought the company from the original owners and they made some improvements from the original model. He sells quite a few on Amazon now.
Had mine since they were first made and it’s still going strong. They’re great for the minimal amount of oil you need, plus the food stays crispy when you keep it warm on the outside.

I just replaced the drive belt on my dads craftsman a few weeks ago. I did remove the deck, which was relatively easy. I have a mower lift and used that as well, but I also had to remove and replace the transmission cooling fan above the rear gears.
One thing you could try is to pull the battery box and reach down to the pulley that this fan is on. It’s a tight fit, but with a pry bar, you may be able to get it o.

I have family that lives a couple miles from FoD. I was getting pictures sent to me all night long. One relative was on top of the silo taking pics.
Pretty cool to see Dyersville getting all this attention. I got to see the FoD get built in 1988, so it’s always been a special place for us.
I know I’ll be first in line if the Twinkies get a crack at playing there.

The knives you guys are referring to was probably called the Miracle Blade. I have a set too and they’re still sharp. Even after using one to cut insulation.

For the record, I hate wearing a mask, but out of respect for others, especially elders, I will wear one. That’s how I was raised.
I got the vaccine to speed up getting rid of the mandate.
Restaurant owners would also be able to open fully if more people would get vaccinated.
