I have the best boat on the water for sale. My 2005..yes a 2005 Warrior 193 with a 225 HP Yammie 4-stroke with all of the electronics for $35,000. That is over $10,000 less than retail. The boat/motor alone are $42,000.

    Where/when is the RCL Championship?

Look me up when you get here. Maybe we can do a half dayer between hunting and scouting during the weekend. Perhaps nail a few beers.

Plastics have been quite successful in very cold water conditions…just before ice out and ice in. When I say before ice out I mean when all you can get in the water is a 12 footer over the rocks. Sounds like Opie got in just before ice in. I was icefishing smaller bays Thankgiving weekend for perch. That was the best perch fishing of the year.

Check out the V193 Warrior. Best ride out there. Layed out to fish in, made for walleye fishing and not a bass boat made to fish walleye.

Goldens are the ONLY way to go. Especially females. I’m on my third.

We’ll freeze-up by November. The docks will all be pulled by Halloween. We were icefishing by Thanksgivivng last year.

Jigs and minnows are a bigge in October byu the bridges. I’d like to try big creek chubs on lindies. Frogs are big too in fall.

I put my boat away sometime in October. You just can’t hunt waterfowl and fish too and be successful in either. You can do both if the weather cooperates. Scouting for ducks and geese takes time. Not enough daylight that time of year to get it all done.

A lot of folks hunt on Devils Lake so you need to be aware of that. The backwater areas, cattail flats, main points, and along the treelines.

If you have two, put the line on backwards on one reel and reel it back on to the other one paying attention to when the the backing/fireline union hits on the counter and you have a full spool. Crank it off reel one onto reel two. Roght the number and line size down for future reference

Or don’t worry about. Just remember how much you put on the last time and when you re-spool add more/less.

To calibrate your reels do as Scott says. I don’t worry if mine are off a foot or three. There is enough variations in lures that it doesn’t make a lot of difference to me. Scott is too anal for me .

The reason Scott has ten line counters is that there is one for each of his ex-girlfriends and each reel is special. He keeps them a custom rack in his rumpus room. Since he only has one rod is limited to one reel but he does take a couple along each time out in case one doesn’t cooperate.

    That’s what I’ve heard.

    I only (mostly) eat perch.

Vacuum pack em in small one meal portions. Keep forever

Two in row…For the Twins. A positive. Two wins

Two in a row…For me. A negative. Two days being blown off the water by wind.

Most of the components on most rods are made by Fugi. There are not that many different reel seats on the market. Check the rods out at your local tackle shop and you’ll see.

If any company has trouble with their reels seats it was a supplier problem and should be a systemic problem in the rod bulding market with a particular components manufactoring run.

I have the same noise on my 225. I have close to 100 hours on mine this year. I figure it is a belt. If it was someting else it would have happened by now. It occurs just above idle rpm’s and not all the time.

Once a year when I travel back to Albert Lea, I stop at the White Castle in Bloomington between 90th and 82nd. I get 10 burgers and they are done by the time I get to the Burnsville Mall. They are terrible but I hafta eat em.

Best burger…A little bar/restraunt in McIntosh SD on the Standing Rock Reservation. The building should be condemd but great burgers. Don’t go there at night

It may have the option of it being part of the digital readout on your graph along with depth, temp etc.

    My 18 has this option.

As far as giving spots away, it’s one thing to say… “We used jigs tipped with leeches on wing dams” or say.. “Fish on the third wing dam down from the dead tree GPS coordinates XY by the black rock with 1/4 oz orange jigs with small leeches named Leroy and you’ll catch the 6 pound walleyes trhat are laying in there.

Fed Ex just dropped off two 8 foot fiberglass trollers for me. I got two 7 footers last month for my SG 17’s and love them.

These 8 footers will be used with my SG 27’s using lead core.

I doubt Cabelas would move in. That is too close to Prairie Du Chen.

If Cabelas moves any place they would build their own building and tear down any existing.

I’m trying to teach my dog to give me CPR.

She’ll do the chest compressions OK but she gets stuck licking my face instead of breathing into my mouth.

Stringers might not be illegal but they are not a great idea, especially in warm water, in a boat, in summer.

Unless you like white, stiff, mushy walleyes.

Never, ever, ever cull off a stringer.

Sure would. Merc and Yammie have tech’s travel the big walleye and bass circuits with their trailers. But they are dealing with just a relatively few models and years.

However wouldn’t it be cost prohibitive or very expensive at least if you had a marine tech travel to you and provide service with all of the diagnostic computer stuff and inventory that would be needed to get one moving again. Most dealers don’t stock every possible thing needed for repair on every possible motor brand, size and year that would be encountered.

In reply to fishkiller, I have seen the Game and Fish this weekend going down the road north of Minnewaukan asking everybody for their liscences and not singling out any one group of people.

I attended a meeting of the Lake Region Anglers a year or so ago when a member of the Hgmong community from St Paul spoke about her cultures thoughts toward fishing and game plus the aspects of extended families and subsitsence.

White bass resemeble a fish from back home and is revered among the Hgmong here in the US.

What gets most peoples goats is that there is a belief that these are going for commercial sale and not to feed extended families. Fishing for food is still an important part of fishing. Fishing for sale is taboo.

I suspect that traveling 450 miles in new vehicles is not fishing for subsistaence but rather for pleasure. I can see the pleasure in your girlfriends face.

Personally I feel a great deal of respect for the Hgmong people for the assistance they provided the US in Viet Nam. I feel we as US citezens owe them a great deal and did them a great diservice by leaving them behind. It is about time more have an opurtunity to obtain safety and a chance for a good life in our country.

As we welcome them into our country, they will be assimilated eventually into the great melting pot as generations grow up here. Those coming over in the recent days will be shocked to see the bounty this country provides. After living in refugee camps for all their life or the crowded living condotions in SE Asia, it will be tempting exploit.

I sincerly hope that you will come back to my area. Both sides need to understand each other.

And by the way…McDonalds just re-opened after the fire from a year ago.

Just a reminder to call your states hotline to report illegal game and fish violations and not to confront those under suspicion yourself.

FYI – I can troll at 2.4 MPH (GPS) with my 225 Yamaha 4 stroke in dead calm conditions.

What speed are you going now?

Is it by the speedometer or GPS?
