do yourself a favor and just get an okuma SLV 2/3….ive tried them all and in my opinion it is the best for the money…enjoy!
interesting…..for 170 bucks and if it was designed for hardwater fishing i would expect US made and a freespool!!!
whoa you guys got me all confused for a minute! hahaha,,,,maybe it wasnt that dumb of a question after all! so is the consensus that it means you reel with your RIGHT hand????
i fish 2 shimano symetre 500’s and 4 tica ss500s….the ticas seem smoother to me actually and are a great buy for 50 bucks!
well i got to get out with the Frank fixed power pont this weekend…it now cuts WAYYYY better then new…like a dream…it just grabs and rips…no pressure needed at all…i am starting to wonder if reeds sold me a used or damaged cutting head!!! it is the most amazing auger ever now!
i am having big time issues with my nils..2 brand new heads that wont cut at all…one power point, one non…they just vibrate and spin…frustrating for a 600 auger that i was SO excited to get…sending them into frank for inspection…seems to be a lot of the new heads not cutting when i do forum searches!!! hopefully they get it figured out!
My 30 noodle split grip white with red and black wraps arrived today a little shy of 2 weeks! All I can say is WOW. I’m impressed. I can’t wait to get it on the ice!!! The quality is amazing!
NILS NILS NILS!!! light, cuts fast, what else could you ask for…oh yeah, industrial rated motor….do any other companies have that??????
if you want the best, spend the money and get a Nils…you will NEVER turn back…i have had strikemasters and the jiffy propane…will never hit the ice without my nils again!
ok maybe i was a bit harsh!! haha…i watch the show if i stumble across it because like someone else said he fishes wisconsin as do i….I just wish there were more shows where they did teach you something new that were not a comedy show…and yeah, probably a bit jealous that i dont get to fish with all of these awwesome guides 52 weeks a year!! haha…have nothing against the guy personally!! the show just isnt my cup of tea so to say! haha
i was thinking the same thing.that ice looked super scetchy!!!…i never liked his show!! all he does is yell, run around, and rely on great guides (like Jim Hudson R.I.P.) to catch fish….
winding that spring is IMPOSSIBLE..happened to me twice last year…that is one of the reasons i got rid of mystrikemasters i brought it to a small engine repair shop and they charged me like 10 bucks to fix it…ordered the recoil kit from SM
Quote:
I think I need a new recoil but tell me if I’m wrong. The spring coil came out of its housing also along with some other washers where I know go. Is winding the spring coil an easy task so I could put off spending more money on it?
I’ve already had to take the auger in to fix this same issue at Northern Tool 3 weeks ago.
i use them after you find aggressive fish…at that point the fish dont care!!! those things STINK though…and the lids are bad!!
same exact story here!!! love my perch sweethearts and pulled the trigger on the TUC noodle last night…hope i love it!!!

Against my normal frugal thinking, i have just ordered my TUC noodle rod.
I have a Thorne Bros Perch Sweetheart rod and many others from the shelves of Cabelas, and FF which include some good rods which i am reluctant to give up on due to my experience of success with them.
However i am willing to bite the bullet on yet another custom built rod as my Perch Sweetheart from TB has impressed the heck out of me.
I hope my new order of the TUC Precision Noodle holds up to all the hype i’ve been reading about
i have an extra one if anyone is looking for one!!! let me know!!!
got out with mine for the first time..loved everything about it except for the drag….the drag was pretty bad…think i will be returning it to cabelas and waiting for next years!!! free spool is money…also smooth!!!
I also got my LX-7 out for the past few days after the 3.17 update and it was AWESOME…dynamic depth worked perfect…really like the unit..i must admit i was scared with the 3.01 issues but it was amazing!!! cant wait to get out again!!! here is one of the many big bulls caught using it!!
Please you guys with LX7s that did the update let us know how it works! good or bad!

I loaded the lx7 v3.17 and ran out for a quick test, worked great. It’s well worth upgrading from 2.9 for the gain improvements alone.
Glad to hear this, I got it loaded up on my 7 and will be out on the lake in the morning to check it out.
I agree! hahaa takes literally 30 seconds…cant wait for feedback on 3.17!

I found getting the rubber USB flap seated back correctly to be the most difficult part. The install was super easy and the unit booted with all my previous settings.
i cant wait for the first testers on 3.17…i wont be able to try it out until next thursday!

Yay!,,,just updated! Hopefully it is as good as 2.9 was last year!
See “I’m scared” post.
I’m updating from 3.01 so it can’t be worse

Any truth to the rumor that the next combo unit will have mapping/chip capabilities?
They might want to concentrate on chasing LX gremlins for a year before rolling out the next LX…just my opinion.
The Longer Arms are great! i picked up a set! very happy with them!

Just a personalized thing or add bling to your machine….
If I remember correctly, he’s making longer arms which is my interest primarily (I also like that they’re heavy duty) but I wanted to verify that with him.
