I can attest to Jeremy’s statement. He had me add a split ring to a few crankbaits a season ago and I can certainly tell the difference in hook ups. FYI.

    Jeremy,
We should run a $5.00 pool, winner take all, on how long it takes before the first “Stink Pickle” gets laid in your boat. Side bets could be placed on the amount of puncture holes left in the seats by seasons end. I’ll call the MGM in Las Vegas and get the odds makers to lay out an over under.

I will not often admit when i’m wrong, but if my example will prevent someone else from making the same mistakes I did than its worth it. About Mid-May of Last season Jeremy and I were using our company’s time efficently and discussing fishing equipment via-e-mail. I mentioned finding two 2002 Quantum Reels at a local bait store for $99.00 a piece. I was in the market to replace two existing reels and asked Jeremy’s thoughts. He said to pay the extra money and get Shimano’s. I diregarded the advise and bought both Quantum reels. The reels stood up to some intense use over the next few months until late September. I was on a weeks vacation with 3 friends doing some fall fishing. In the first three days of our vacation, both Quantum reels quick working. When the first reel broke i just thought it was a defective part but when the second reel did the same thing, both reels got returned to the store where I bought them and Quantum will never again grace one of my rods. Like I said, I don’t like admitting when I should have taken someones advise, especially when I know i’ll get a big told ya so coming from Crawford, but this topic really hit home. I wouldn’t,in good faith, recommend Quantum to anyone. FYI.

Comparing apples and oranges. If the pros weight is combined with the co-anglers, the true co-angler champion is never really decided. Sounds like a case of officials making rules who truely have never competed at any level. (With the exception of 3rd grade dodgeball).

I’m a vikings fan and with that being said, i’ve learned to keep the trash talking to a minimum until after the last second, of the last play, of the last game of the season is over and we are going to the playoffs.

By the sounds of the article, they know they are in for legal action. I would be looking for a reversal within a week or better. To much open interpretation of the rule.

    Gill,

I thought the same thing. Larger profile baits dead sticked. So I fished a Sinko in several places with the same result. 1 lb fish. I even downsized the Senko with the same result.

    Jeremy,

We tried the north end of Desoto only to find three other bass boats thinking the same thing. We found fish in quantity almost everywhere we went. Just not the quality.
That is what puzzled me so much. Usually you’ll get a mixture of sizes when you find a quantity of largemouth but that just wasn’t the case. Puzzling

Know that we’ve established the fishing is slow…..does anyone have any insight or suggestions. I’ve been fishing the very obviousy and the very unobvious spots hoping to establish a pattern and haven’t. Is this the calm before
the fall feeding storm or is this something new????? Am I wrong or does Sept. 10th usually mean the feedbag is already strapped on by now!!!!!!!!!!!

    FYI.

I was in the middle section of pool 10 Friday July 23rd and found two small sections of slop that were just unbelievable. At noon we decided to try fishing rats for a few hours and what a smart move. The first spot we stopped at was no bigger than 20 yards by 20 yards and we pulled 9 fish out of the slop only missing two blow ups. The next spot was even better. It was a larger spot but we must of had 20 blow ups and boated 10-12 fish. I had never seen slope fish so aggressive. They were swallowing the bait all the way down. I realize this is in contrast to what everyone has been reporting about pool 10. The real kicker to this is we caught all these fish in 1 hour. We then went to Pool 9 on Saturday and Sunday and didn’t boat a slop fish. FYI.

    JC,

I own a Mercury rainsuit that lasted one year. However, rather than throwing the suit away, another club member told me to stop by Cabela’s and ask for their waterproofing spray on repellant. It comes in a miniture spray bottle for about $10.00. You thoroughly wet down the suit, shake off the excess water and apply the waterproofing. Then toss the suit into the dryer and dry completely. The first tournament of the year at Cassville i fished in the rain from 8:00 to 11:30 and not a drop of water soaked through my suit. Pretty good way to give your rain suits new life.
The bottle only does one suite so its a little expensive, but worth every penny. FYI. Hope it helps.

There is comfort in knowing that these little vandals will likely be spending half their juvenile life in some type of correctional program. So in 10 years, this little episode will seem less funny to them, realizing their social standing in society.

I’ve been marking mine with a brown, black or dark green marker. At least the first 6-8 feet.
