About 15 years ago during winter the big walleyes were on a big bite. Every week in the local paper there were pictures of walleyes[average of 3 a week]on the low side 8 pounders up to several 13.5’s. One night,in my fishhouse one that measured 34.25″ was on the floor for a moment, then forced back down the hole. The guy who caught it could not afford to mount it.This was a western Wright County lake. The next year you never heard of a big fish caught out there. The local paper than ran a report that stated “maybe some of those big walleyes should have been released last year” of course that statement was a year too late

I made a strap out of steel and ran two long bolts up through the rim of the spare and mounted it under the bow of the boat next to the winch post.

I just watched an In-Fisherman video they said,”muskie spawn at water temps 50-58 degrees”.

The way I read the law in the Startrib last week it stated,” two lines could be used when anchored and casting was not allowed”. I guess you have to just drop your lines over the side of the boat.

Could be about the MN Catfish and Sturgeon Alliance pushing for stocking of Flatheads in any lake that has stunted sunfish and walleyes smaller than 5 pounds.

A lake in my area is getting stocked with walleyes this coming spring so they can control the catfish population, the D.N.R. claims walleyes are one of the only fish that will keep catfish in check?????

You should get yourself a big Beckman Net

No need to even pull them in the boat

With a 14′ boat a Beckman Muskie Net in the boat it would mean I would always have to fish alone.

I learned not all cold fronts kill a bite, alot of years ago I fished a tournament and during prefishing found a good bite speed trolling. The night before the tournament a big nasty cold front blew through,so I did not even try anything with a speedy approach to it.The winning team burned Rattle Traps over the weeds, the only team to weigh a limit.

Unless something changed very recently you are not allowed to bring crawlers into Canada, even though most crawlers come from there!

On second thought maybe you photoshopped the muskie in front of Joe to really hide your spot

A man must have priorities. If you start out right by letting her know what is most important to you, she won’t have problems with you going fishing. If you start that way then there are no surprises. It has worked for me for 25 years!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I know it’s early but it’s better then forgetting. Also just in case the garage door gets you before then or her!!!

red lab maybe you should go to the local grain elevator and put your boat on the scale to eliminate any weight doubt.
