Coleman Insta-tent! Fiberglass poles all connected like a hub style shelter. Has a floor, but we sleep on inflatable mattress. Sets up in MINUTES! We replaced the first one we had for 10 years after the material started to lose its water repellance. (leaks in the seams, and moisture seap through wall material.) Four and six man tents. Under $200.

Your arm will appreciate the weight savings, especially if you are a run and gun fisherman

I have a heeler\terrier and she is a wild little sh!t at times.
I hope this one is as good as your last.
Good luck with that heeler velociraptor attitude.

Haha velociraptor is the perfect description. We have another Heeler/collie mix and she was nothing crazy like the new pup when she was younger. The new one is just a terrorizer

Both statements could easily apply to these two. Can you tell which is the “velociraptor” grin

Go into your settings and make sure the correct transducer is selected?

Go with the HB Ice kit. Comes with the transducer, but not a battery. I did this 3/4 years ago. Price has gone up since, and were hard to find in-store, but found this website

We lived three houses down from a gas station on a busy state highway. One day on way home from work I come around corner by that station and noticed two small square items in the road. I turned around, and parked on a side street of the intersection. Here it was a wallet and a cell phone. I went home, called police told them what I found and come get it. Meanwhile waiting for the officer-half hour had passed-the phone rings! It was the kid’s dad calling. I answered, told him who I was and where to come get it. They showed up, dad sends younger kid across street to me. I hand over the phone and wallet-with no “thank you”. I guess the dad’s older son got gas, left the items on truck bed/cover, left and lost them turning the corner! lol

We have another fishing partner besides our 12 year old dog Daisy. We recently adopted a pup-meet Keena. She did really well in the boat for a first time. Had to keep an eye on her or she would be chewing on trolling motor wires, rod tips, fishing line, or bobbers.

    West Central WI-
    Eau Claire-Chippewa River Trail
    Chippewa Falls-Old Abe Trail
    Dunn-Red Cedar River Trail

I have done all three. All are paved blacktop.
I have also biked the Elroy/Sparta trail which is packed crushed limestone and features 3 railroad tunnel you can bike through. Very cool!

Here’s how I do it. I bring my Helix 7 when I go to lakes where I know I’m going to need accurate mapping or it’s my first time out there, because honestly the mobile Navionics is no where near accurate on many lakes. If it’s a lake I know well, or am fishing shallow, I’m using the Vex.

    Sometimes I even bring both……

Not meaning to jack your thread, but just wanted to share/add an experience I had with Lakemaster mapping on my Helix last week.
Went to a lake I hadn’t fished in twenty years. Studied a Navionics map and picked a spot with a 5-15ft dropoff I wanted to ice fish at night after work for walleye. Drove on the lake with my Helix/Lakemaster map to the edge of a 20ft contour. (Remember the Navionics map showed 15ft) jumped out of the truck and drilled a hole-right into the bottom! Moved 20yds drill another-again into the bottom. flame
Asked a nearby fisherman “if and where is there a 20ft depth?” “Not here” as he showed me an ‘off the wall’ contour map on his phone, showing 3-10ft deep in that area.

Just pointing out no matter how much we trust in technology and mapping, they are NOT always accurate. ;(

I only sit on the couch watching girls gone wild with rattle reels down and within arms reach of the on off switch for the strobe lights and electric flag pole. Just kidding I dont use rattle reels.

I am always on the move hole hopping so I will stand. If it’s a breezy day I like to kneel for better visual on line or rod tip movement indicating a bite. Kneeling also good when you’ve got a hot hole and trying to keep it to yourself! whistling

Oh, and also within arms reach of that transducer when you got a good one on!! waytogo waytogo

My Polaris takes the VES Gold at $60 a gallon. Some dealers sell it in bulk, so bring your empty jug. I saved $6 on gallon of bulk.
P.S. You won’t smell someone’s exhaust when you’re leading! hah

Bern riding Polaris snowmobiles since I took safety class at age 14. Mainly ride northwest Wisconsin, even through the “no snow years” where we had to trailer to Rice Lake, WI and points northward. After 10 years riding two up on a single rider, I told my wife it was time for her own sled grin We also ride with my dad, brother and his wife, so now we are up to five sleds, with a two and a three place trailer.

That’s good to know since I am originally from Chippewa and just moved back up to the area. I might need some boat rigging some day. Haven’t heard anything about them. Who owns it, and how long have they been in business? Thanks!

We had a late 70s house with a heat vent that fed into an insulated attached garage, keeping it in the mid 40s during the winter(with a floor drain). Now we are in an early 80s house with attached uninsulated garage with no floor drain. We asked our heating guy if he could add a vent-like the old house…Nope! Doesn’t meet code nowadays! Eventually we will insulate, but right now it sucks snowblower and vehicle can’t melt, and sweeping snow and water out the door! doah

Coppertone Sport 50. Lots of people swear by it. I have only had a chance to try it once and it worked. Just on my ankles. That’s where they attack me in the pontoon. Little devils.

I had first experience with the black biting flies on the Mississippi last week. It was a sunny, windless, hot evening and I had no idea where these flies were coming from, or why they were attracted to me or the boat.
Of course I forgot the three cans of bug spray at home, but I did have a can of sport sunblock spray. I tried it as a last ditch effort. It didn’t work. I gave up and went in early.

    Anyone use Hulu?

We have had Hulu for about 5 years with Amazon Firestick-$75 month. All local channels we want, television series, movies, sports channels-excluding Ballys. What I can’t watch on Ballys, I watch on the YouTube app. Few glitches with Hulu, but could be something with internet. Alexa feature available, but haven’t used it yet.

Has anyone heard of there’s been any progress on MK onboard chargers being delivered? Think we can expect our orders filled in 2022??

I recently ordered a MK30D through an online outlet website and received it in 6 days-2 days earlier than anticipated. waytogo

I went through similar experience you are having now. First I hope your repair lasts longer than the pedal did from manufacture. My Version 1 pedal went to heck also. I took the TM to a MK authorized repair shop and he changed the circuit board to operate with a brand new Version 2 pedal. That pedal developed broken/loose wire(s), no steering, two months before warranty, then two months after warranty, no forward operation. Bought new pedal $100.
Now batteries-I have no luck with batteries. I have two 27 Series Interstate for TM, and one Batteries Plus 27 Series Duracell Ultra for cranking, lights and all other electrical. I do alot of trolling with trolling motor for 4-6 hours continuously, and they do peter out at 7-8 hours. The Duracell I’m not quite sure about. Fully charged, starts motor fine, but running Helix7 off it seems to draw alot. There are times the Helix7 shuts off, almost like the battery is drained, but the big motor starts up good.
Like many others have said, go as big as you can within your budget or maybe splurge a little.

I drive a 14 Ford flex fuel truck and get 14-21 mpg. I always use the E88 (15% ethanol). Anyone else notice the exhaust smells worse than from a few years ago?
One day saw E85 for way less and thought “I will try that!” Never again! MPG dropped to 10mpg maybe 12 and ran rough.

I noticed too stations like Holiday and Kwik Trip used to boast Top Tier gasoline, but they have since removed those labels from their pumps-wonder why that is?

We had mayflies in northwest wisconsin during Memorial Day Weekend. I have no idea what specie they were. Have not seen any on the Mississippi Pool 8 yet, but usually Fourth of July weekend is a good bet. Remember few years ago “the hatch” was picked up by weather radar__CRAZY!!!

Lansing Iowa is a great little town! It is featured in the movie “The Straight Story” from the early 1990’s. Also got to visit Horsfalls’ Variety Stores where the aisle in the older store are “One Way Only”. The Driftless Area Education and Visitors Center is worth checking out too; Great River history, fishing, and aqariums with various River species. I will have to check out the grainmill/coffee/museum you mentioned mentioned! waytogo
