Well here are the details! Shotgun bird. Well the morning started off with 7 diffrent birds on the farm gobbling. Set up on the on a hill in the middle of the farm field. My dad went into the far courner of the field. Had 4 jakes come into the hen decoy at 7:00am. They left and walked into the woods. I went down to see my dad and what he has seen in the morning. I got 20 yards from him and 2 toms fired on the woods. So I quickly sat down with him. He worked the calls and they talked back and forth for 10min. finally they came out of the woods and into the edge of the field. They hung up in the edge and would not come out any father. Then we hear another tom in the woods behind them coming to our calls. The first 2 toms started working their way away from us at 60 yards. I told my dad you have to make the call to take one of these of hope the other one would come in. Well we will just say that we both shoot benelli nova same choke tubes but I was shooting a 3 1/2in shell and he was 3in shell #5. Well I got the bird and he is now going out buy 3 1/2in shells.

Well here is my 2 cents. I own both guns. Duck hunt with the nova(5+yrs) and love it due to the fact that I could clean the gun in the duck blind if needed and not bring any extra tools. Also it comes apart in 8 or less pieces. I deer hunt with the 870 (10+yrs) I like it but it just has so many pieces to take a part to clean. both guns have never failed me. But I would buy another nova if I had to. Its the classic which truck is the best Dodge Chevy Ford? Good luck

So my question it them is why in the heck did they wait until sept 20th to do this knowing full well that duck hunters hunt on that lake (like me) with the season just a few weeks away.

It was hard to hear I miss my season by 10 min. He’s is a great guy we give him a little cash and a thank you card every year. But I may have to offer help on the farm.

I got a remington 870 with a fully rifled barrel open sights and shoot Hornady SST 200 gr. The best I’ve shot out of my gun. . My father shoots the same but with a scope and has no problems with it. Would say Hornadys are the way to go

I’ve shot a few mallards in maple springs that were feeding on the zebra muscle’s. Boy did they stink

I guess if your looking for a gun for bear a 45acp would work if you are looking for a semiauto and a carry gun

Get a GLOCK you cant go wrong. . Go to the range and shoot them all a 40S&W is your best bet. Dont make a $500 mistake without shooting one. Size is another. Hold them all and buy what fits best. I own a glock 29 10mm subcompact. Its a little big but i love it! Its hard to find ammo but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Just get a Glock
