We were running 3/4 and 1 oz no-snag sinkers with 8′ rigs today. Wouldn’t need to go that heavy typically, but we were moving pretty quickly to cover more water.
I did well yesterday afternoon and even better this morning on Lindy’s with leeches. This morning dad and I had 8 that we’re 25″ or better with the biggest going 28.25″. Most the fish came off the bottom end of the mud breaks in ~30′.
Nowhere near as good as the opener but we still did pretty good this afternoon, caught a good 50 fish for 2 of us from 1-7 PM. Went out of the Tamarack and fished the north side in 4-6′ of water. Jigs worked well until we ran out of bait. After that, we pulled #5 shad raps and picked up 6 in 45 min on them. Our biggest fish was a 19″. Sheephead are up there now too.
Here is a 28″ that I caught up there last year over Memorial Day weekend. There are some bigger ones out there, but they are few and far between as a result of nearly all the walleyes being netted out of the lake.
