Agreed…that is one of the few complaints I have with the boat. It really should have been resolved in the design or at the factory because there is no way my hands are getting in there very easy.

I use rod socks and then will just twist or spin rods gently to snake them through there and I only put my heavier bait casters (musky and bass) in there as it already has claimed a few of my lighter walleye trolling rods.

I have to trim the motor down and I have about an inch to spare on my 7 foot door.

Alberto wraps around going down and back where Albright wraps going back only.

I see that…I hope yours loads a little better than mine. Too steep or too shallow creates some issues.

I have the 200 with a 9.9 and the 200 made oil during the break in period up to about 50 hours. It no longer does this so I don’t think it has issues trolling. That being said, you would want the 150 if you want to stay below 2.5 mph. If you troll a lot, you will want a kicker and the 200.

That’s awesome! Can you tell me if the tops get slippery when wet or is there some kind of non-slip material on there?

I am curious to hear if this has changed this year (RABC = Remote Access Border Crossing) as it would be a nice time saver to not have to visit our Canadian friends. They seem too be very friendly or very grouchy with nothing in between!

I spoke with Navionics and they said it was a developer issue and they put in a ticket to fix it. Frustrating to be sure!

I tried all of those but no change. I have zoomed in all the way but still can only get 3′ contours…frustrating!

The key is to not go with smaller gauge wire. 4 gauge is a larger gauge wire than 6 gauge so go for it!

Stop in at Ben’s Bait and they should send you in the right direction.

Even though you cannot directly map on the fly with the gen 2, there are several benefits to Insight online. I appreciate the fact you can generate maps with vegetation, bottom hardness, or contours, or any combination of two of these. Depending on how and what you fish for this is invaluable to create different maps with different purposes. As far as I know, Navionics does not offer veg or bottom hardness with their mapping but someone please correct me if I am wrong here!

You still have an option for map on the fly if you have the wireless gofree unit. You should be able to utilize the navionics sonarcharts on your phone or tablet if you connect to the gofree unit to provide sonar data. There are several articles and videos to help you with this.

    Hope this helps!

How many holes for 12″ of ice?

How do the lithium batts handle the cold?

Have you ever used it for the Lake Winnipeg trip? If so can you comment on the performance?

    Thanks.

I just picked up a 16P Powertech used on ebay in perfect condition as a spare and for pulling tubers. I will try it out this weekend and let you know the results. I took Michael’s suggestion and added the SE400 hydrofoil so I will provide my feedback with that included.

    Cal,
Where did you get your turbo 1 prop and what hub kit do you use with it? Are there any chatter issues not using the reliance sds hub kit or does the turbo 1 hub kit use something similar?

    Thanks.

I am having the same issues as Mr. Winther and I eagerly await his results.

    Cal,
Could you provide a performance comparison between the stock reliance versus the turbo 1?
Also, are you utilizing a hydrofoil similar to Michael?

I have started to use mine a lot this year since I can keep my hands free. All things being equal, we all know that he with the most casts usually boats the most fish.

I do not have the color scheme as the dealer picked it out. Give Stub’s Marine in Alexandria a call and they should be able to give it to you. Just tell them it was the 1910 in the showroom in February.

I have the 1910 and simply put, you want the 36 volt. Running the batteries way down is not good for them and you never want to run out of power. I had to upgrade because my brand new series 29’s ran out of juice at about 5 hours in the 20 to 30 mph winds on the Big Stone opener this year. If you won’t use it all day in harsh conditions then maybe you could get away with the 24 volt but why risk it if you are making that kind of expenditure the cost is trivial for the peace of mind. I had to upgrade now and wish I would have done it when I purchased the boat. Make no mistake, this is a heavy boat and the react keel adds a lot of drag if you are making sharp turns further requiring more power.

We made it out over the course of the weekend in the Ottertail area and ended up doing OK. 2 nice eyes and a bonus perch in the morning Saturday while dealing with that awful wind on OT. They made a great lunch!

That evening we were able to pull in 8 nice eater eyes and a bonus 23.5 cpr on a different lake. Also kept the 5 smallersmaller norskies we boated to pickle.

Sunday evening was actually quite a bit slower for us but we managed 4 decent eaters and some small throwbacks.

Monday morning we found the little guys thick but managed a 22 cpr along with 2 nice eaters.

The ladies appreciated the fish fry since we were gone so much ;-)
