I think I’ll take the weight savings and quicker charge time of two 5ah over the 12ah. not to mention the cost, won’t fit in a jacket pocket, and it’s really usable on a drill or any tool at home other than something stationary or the chainsaw.

What has shipping been costing? It shows $23 for two batteries to Wisconsin, is this correct or is there a cheaper option?

That’s what mine was as well. I think the original cost was $15 for one battery.

A lot of times I will have two rods rigged the same way for perch fishing.

If the school is hot, and you need to get back down, drop the first rod, grab the second and drop it down fast!

If it’s still available, I’d do two batteries and charger.

    +1 for CPO

My drill has seen a ton of use, mixing drywall mud, tile mortar, grout, along with drilling holes in ice. I have been very impressed with the drill.

All the batteries have the same ‘power’, they differ in capacity.

5.0XC are 5Amp hour. There is also a 9 Amp hour batterty. Basically, you’re looking at more holes per battery. How many?…who knows.

CPO Milwaukee has a pair of 5AH for $199, or ONE 9AH for $169. There’s a lot to look at, charging time, how much they are drawn down, temperature, etc…myself, I’d rather have the two batteries, than one giant one that wont fit in my coat pocket.

If these landowners start making money by charging for fishing access it will become very hard to stop it.

    Some lakes they already do.

Many of the lakes that have Private pay accesses also have state owned ramps. Buckshots on Waubay is one. $3 to access there, but there are many times that you can’t get to that side of the lake on the ice because of heaves.

You could go it at Grenville, but many times there is a heave that runs down the middle of the lake, leaving no public access of that side.

The interpretation of this ruling is all over the place. If you look at it as EXACTLY as it’s written, even if you get permission from a landowner to access a body of water, you are only able to be ‘above’ their land boundaries.

Supreme Court ruled that “neither the public nor the Landowners have a superior right to use the waters and ice” sooooo….even if you have permission, you really don’t…

Kinda late to the ice out party, but suspending jerkbaits.

XJS13 Jointed X-Rap, Saltwater X-Rap, Shallow Raider, etc..

We went 5/5 last year on them, 10 days after ice out on Merritt.

We hit it last weekend, but much later after ice out. Tough year for everyone, and we went musky-less. 2 Pike, and 2 walleye on big jerkbaits thought. Only saw one musky caught.

Most of my ice and open water reels are spooled with Power Pro.

I do have some ice reels that I stick with Flouro, other wise they have 4-8lb power pro.

For rods I use with anything other than small jigs, they have braid.

I join the lines with a uni to uni knot. This holds true on ice an open water. I have only had this know fail once, and it was more than likely a bad tie. It’s an easy knot to tie, even with cold hands in the wind. It works on anything from 2lb flouro to 20lb flouro.

4 days riding the struggle bus, and this is what we were rewarded with.

If I could drag my wife up there and buy a house, I’d do it.

I’m using the Meat Stick, my buddy Taylor is using the Bullwhip. He seems to use it a lot up there. Works really well with tungsten jigs, and light spoons.

    3lb flouro.

because when the fish bites it will change how the line makes the bend over tip top of the rod. With a light jig, and a bit heavier line, the line makes a curve at the tip. When a fish bites, this curve will straighten out, and a up bite, the like will curve more.

Gold stren works great for this. I have 2lb gold stren on a 20″ 13 Wicked SUL, and 4lb orange suffix on a 26″ custom UL.

I will use these with Tungsten Ice flies that I tie, or any small jig that is working.

Also check which fishing mode it is in. shallow water, deep water, ice mode…etc.

Through the menu, you can also pick the correct transducer.

Had the same issue with two LX7’s, not even in the same house. One screen completely clear, one cluttered. No combination of IR settings would change it.

Had to change the Gain setting on both units. I can’t remember if it was gain 1 or 2, but it seemed to help.

I loved my LX7 until it gave up in the middle of a hot perch bite.

    Trust lost.

Not sure if I will keep it after I get it back from repair or not.

I love how it works, and what it can do, but if I can’t rely on my most important part of equipment, I’ll be doing nothing but wondering when the next time it breaks will be.

Writing a bad review on their Facebook page was a pretty good way to get their attention. Got a direct number, and answer the day after posting on there.

Customer service rep was helpful, and got things sped up a bit.

Got emails back on both units today, and they are both heading out, and got tracking numbers.

Probably what I will end up doing with both the camera and LX7.

Really love how the LX7 works, when it works. But with the numbers of complaints here, and friends that have them, trust is falling.

The 3-5 day turnaround time for repair turns into 10 days during winter, if anyone was thinking about sending theirs in.

After 7 days, I finally talked to a human today. Said they are experiencing a high volume of repairs, and are just getting to packages that arrived last week.

Only got a reply back about the camera, on their online ‘ask a question’, to which they told me exactly what I already told THEM, it’s got a bad camera.

Still no answer of how I can get a new camera, just that it should be sent.

STILL no answer about the LX7, not even a reply of any sort.

No answer of the tech support phone number, nor reply to the messages, or emails.

Spent the $150 to send it to them for repair, and should be there Monday. Hope they can make a timely repair, and at least make an attempt to make things right.

    Hahahah

The ice hole has similar gravity to the sun. Nothing is safe, lures, phones, keeper fish, unsecured rods….

Kinda tough to trust it anymore with all the issues reported here, friends that have had issues, and now my own.

Not worth anything as it sits, if I need to send it in, I will. Just hoped I could go through more diagnostics that the joke of a system that they have on their support site.

    Drill mode, not ‘screw mode’

Lol, didn’t know how else to put it…

Speed setting 1, Drill selected locks the clutch.

I think trucks and wheel houses will probably be out based off the current temps and forecast.

I’ll be up there over new years’ weekend. Third year in a row, such an awesome area.
