I have noticed the lack of both water and fish in the backwaters. I have been focusing on the channel with little success. Pool 13 seems to be the local favorite however pool 14 has to hold fish also.

Nice fish!! Do you bass fish on this pool @ all? I just moved to the area and love to fish for bass. I have been out on pool 14 twice with limited success.

How abou fish arches versus the symbols. I do not show arches, but turning on the fish ID I get tons of symbols on the TM and none on the unit at the helm. Both units have identical setup

I tried the opti after being a long time omc guy; traded it in 6 months later. The motor never ran right despite multiple trips to the dealer. A 250 e-tec finally solved the problem.

You probably have seen me post these comments on the site before but, the inability of teh hds 5 to read navionics chips makes it a poor choice. Lowrance is extremely slow in providing the updates for the unit that would enable it to read the cards. I have two of the hds 5’s right now and am not impressed at all.

Current lowrance products(HDS)in specific do not accept navionics cards. They are currently working on a download to be able to read the chips. Th is specifeic download has again been delayed. I have two hds 5’s on my new z520 and find them useless since they dont read the chips. The lcx 28,27 are excellent choices if you can still find them. They are easy to install and excellent units. The instructions and this website would easily get you through the installation on your boat.
