I’ve been doing well north of Green Bay near Oconto and Sturgeon Bay. There are fish on reefs around Oconto, the mud out from Pensaukee, and on reefs around Sturgeon Bay. I’m getting them pulling spinners, trolling cranks, or jigging. Take your pick!! Good luck! Capt Jerry, Anglers Plus guide Service

I paid over $300 for the barrel and $175 for the scope. I’ll take $190 for the barrel. I looked up several sites for new barrels and they list them for over $350 up to $550. Add another $10 for shipping for an even $200. I take Paypal for friends.
November 30, 2012 at 2:12 am #127569I just put my pup down last weekend. I made the decision to hold her while she was injected. I wanted her last memory to be that I was there for her. It’s very tough and it made me cry like a baby but I wouldn’t do it any differently. GodBless you buddy…..I know what you’re going through!!
November 26, 2012 at 7:45 am #1114882I have one with the I-Pilot and the foot pedal that I am selling. I ran it twice. Regular price is $1469. I will let it go for $1200. I believe it is still under warranty as I bought it in June. PM or email me if you’re interested.
June 27, 2012 at 2:37 pm #1079110This is what happens when an agency such as the WDNR is run by politicians and not scientists. To boot, the WDNR has proven over the years to be anti-tournament and tournament anglers. We are continually treated poorly by the WDNR. The decision to limit the waters BASS Elite guys can fish is no surprise here.
January 9, 2012 at 1:29 pm #1025986I like to run a 50 ft. fluorocarbon leader (20 lb) and 2 colors of leadcore with either a spoon or orange dodger/green fly combo off a planer board. This combo was a killer for steelies and cohos last year out of Manitowoc.
November 22, 2011 at 4:50 am #115281This is how I do it and it’s worked for me for 25 years: clean it, shoot it, clean it again, then shoot it once or twice and leave it dirty. If the last two shots are accurate you’re in!!
April 8, 2011 at 10:55 pm #955390Unless you’re planning on going way south to fish for coho’s, May is very early for slamon fishing. Which port are you hoping to fish out of?
March 19, 2011 at 5:43 am #948639The amount of radiation being measured in California is slightly above the cosmic level seen on a daily basis. I’m not sure where you’re getting your information but I’d say it’s highly incorrect. I’d start searching for a new source for news.
September 24, 2010 at 8:00 pm #900582My reply: WOW IS THAT LAME!!! Your team is 0-2 and this is all you can come up with? Based on this, it’s no wonder you guys are playing for the Bloomington Bud Grant Bowl every year instead of the LOMBARDI Trophy!!
September 2, 2010 at 12:19 am #897019Question: if they called you and talked about a deal but it wasn’t complete, and you drove to their boneyard and took something, what do you think they would do? I say call the police, file a police report and declare it as stolen.
April 2, 2010 at 8:19 pm #860162I tend to stay away from political-type posts, and I’m in total favor of taking the politics out of our outdoors, but there was a response to this suggestion of Rep Gundersons. Here it is:
For Immediate Release Contact: Rep. Ann Hraychuck

What Rep. Gunderson Didn’t Say
MADISON–State Representative Ann Hraychuck (D-Balsam Lake), Chair of the Assembly Fish and Wildlife
Committee, issued the following statement in response to Rep. Gunderson’s press release regarding
Clearinghouse Rule 09-053, which sets deer management unit population goals:
“The Assembly Fish and Wildlife Committee asked the DNR to revise that rule—and they did. The original
rule only included population increases in 13 deer management units. The revised rule now includes increases
in 43. Rep. Gunderson was the only member of this bi-partisan committee that requested a second public
hearing on Clearinghouse Rule 09-053.
“What Rep. Gunderson failed to mention is that if this rule didn’t go through, the 2010 deer season would have
to be set based on the old population goals, which is almost 60,000 less than the new ones. This rule moves our
deer population in the right direction, which is up.
“The whole reason we are in this mess to begin with is because of the decision Rep. Gunderson made five years
ago. What Rep. Gunderson fails to tell hunters across the state is that it was under his watch that he allowed the
DNR to decrease our deer population. When the deer population goals were reviewed in 2005 by the Assembly
Natural Resources Committee—which he chaired at the time—he held a public hearing on the rule but never
asked the DNR for modifications.
“Furthermore, if Rep. Gunderson disliked the T-Zone and Earn-A-Buck policies so much, then maybe he should
have done something about them when he was Chair. But he didn’t. When I began my term as Chair last year,
I took the deer population problem head on. And now we have fewer herd control units, Earn-A-Buck only in
CWD zones, and with this new rule, we’ll have more deer.
“Finally, if Rep. Gunderson is so disgusted with the DNR, then perhaps he should have voted to override the
Governor’s veto on the DNR Secretary Bill, AB 138.”January 25, 2010 at 9:50 pm #836239Come to think of it, I have won 3 events since September. But I’m talking Texas Hold ‘Em tournies, as I have not fished a tourney since 2008. More money in cards than fish…..it’s like picking on ViQueens fans or beating up infants. Neither is much of a contest!!!!!

I watched every glorious minute of it…..there isn’t a fishing trip in this world I would go on to miss a good ViQueen beatdown!!!!
So tell me about your fishing trip when the Queens played the Pack twice this year, I would love to hear all about it. Catch any?
No, I decided to stay off the water on those days and, fortunately for me, the keepers of the Packer Hall of Fame called me and let me come over and help clean our 3 Super Bowl trophies. Have the keepers of the ViQueen Hall of fame let you clean their Super Bowl trophies??? Oh wait….you don’t have any yet!!!

I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!!!! There’s nothing better than listening to you ViQueens fans whine about which team is better and talk about what a great season it was……spoken like true losers!!! Until the ViQueens win one they are what we thought they were…..LOSERS!!! Maybe the Queens should call the Jets and ask them to play a game of the so-called best teams….we can call it the Losers Bowl…or better yet, the Bloomington Bud Grant Bowl!!!
Did you watch the game Jerry? I hope you were out fishing.

January 10, 2008 at 11:16 pm #32526Blue Fleck,
Go to the Montana DNR website. That information should be readily available. I’m in the process of applying for non-resident elk tags in 4 states for a rut bow hunt and every state that I’m applying for had the proper information with hotlines for questions on their website. Good luck!!!
December 31, 2007 at 10:43 pm #5913Nice production Jarrad!! The clarity is good as is the sound. Great job!!! I’m guessing around 150″.
December 27, 2007 at 7:14 pm #6398I’ve never strayed from my Shockwaves, so I do not know anything about Powerbelts. I know guys who use them succesfully.
Yes, I agree with not using 150 grains of powder for an open sight weapon. Like I said, find the proper balance of powder/bullet and you will have accuracy. Find the proper load and sight in for 100 yards. With open sights you are actually sighting in that balance rather than you are the windage/elevation of the bullet. With a scope, be it either a 1X magnification or anything larger, you can account for the difference in elevation by adjusting the scope. Open sights aren’t quite as easy.
As for range with open sights, it depends on the marksman. If you shoot your weapon alot and become familiar with it, you can expect to be accurate out to 150-175 yards, but it takes many hours of practice, shooting under different conditions with a muzzleloader to get that accurate.
December 27, 2007 at 5:22 am #6374Funny you should mention the conditions Lip, as I am convinced from what I watched this week in deer and small game behavior that we are in for a rough winter this year. The last few here in Eastern WI have been relatively mild with a storm or two mixed in. Let me explain why I feel this way.
I was out on Sunday and Monday afternoon, checking out a place I hunt and seeing if there was any activity since teh muzzleloader season ended. When I got close to my stands on Sunday I couldn’t believe the trail leading out to a harvested corn field. I ran back, got my bow, and sat on the ground just downwind of that trail. To my surprise, at about 4 pm, a constant stream of deer came by. I saw 4 bucks that have already shed their antlers. I am sure that one of them is/was the 140-150″ 10 I was hunting most of the fall. In all, I watched 34 deer enter this field. Monday was a repeat with a couple of small antlered bucks among the herd.
My second observation that makes me think we’re in for a rough winter is in my yard. I have a small animal feeder in my backyard and the squirrels make for great entertainment there. The squirrels in my yard this year are by far the fattest I’ve ever seen. I am convinced that animals like squirrels know when they’re in for a rough winter, so they put on heavy fat reserves to get them through the winter.
