o they’re just shifting their classic rock window up a decade from 70’s and 80’s to 80’s and 90’s?
Sounds like it. Less Stairway to Heaven, More Teen Spirit.

What’s Next for KQRS? We’re Glad You Asked!
Posted: April 3, 2025
We’re changing. Let’s get that said up front. It’s a good thing. Rock music has to evolve and so does KQ. There are things which exist that do not evolve whether by choice or fear, and when they don’t, they wither away. Not us. KQRS belongs to the Twin Cities and we embrace evolution as an entire generation demands we become something for them. Our goal is to focus on your personal soundtrack—one that speaks to Gen-X and beyond.
Why change? Well, because you’ve asked us to change. You deserve to know what we’re doing and why. There’s no head scratching here because we’re coming right out with it. Proudly, as a matter of fact. The truth is you might listen to KQ now and realize it’s not for you (pardon the Pearl Jam pun). That’s ok. This isn’t meant to be for everyone but if you give us a chance and some trust, you’ll fit in perfectly.
We’re led by Steve Gorman in the Morning with the sounds and perspectives by and for Gen-X. You’ve asked for the music that shaped your life. From the power chords of the ‘80s to the raw energy of the ‘90s, into the wide-eyed optimism of the 2000s. We’re delivering the rock that matters most to you. We’ll also give real exposure to the iconic Minnesotans who have built the sounds of our community. All this music has been here and we’re giving it a home. KQ is now a complete rock station.
This isn’t just a change—it’s a natural progression; time for us to grow again. It’s about renewing the spirit of the KQ. Making it more relevant, more electric, and more yours than ever.
Welcome to the next chapter of 92KQRS. Now for an entire generation that grew up screaming Here we are now. Entertain us!

You guys remember when Weasel got the boot and Nick and Josh had to pretend nothing happened??
Same with Wappel.

KQ has sucked for over 25 years and Tom B was an A-hole.
I’m getting old so CCO for me and actually 6 months ago they changed it up and although Liberal, they have come a bit more to the center.
and Spotify.
Love Country and Crooners.
X2. Have you listened to crooners doing Metallica covers? It’s pretty cool

So what is KQRS moving to?There isn’t much in the way of speculation so who knows.
Let’s just hope it’s something good!
Here is my guess. Gorman morning show. Maybe out of NYC or LA ? Then Jack FM no DJ format all day. Same 80s classic R&R.

I do not frequent any parts of Minneapolis.
Allianz Field is in St Paul.
Park downtown in a ramp or surface lot. Jump on the light rail. You get dropped off in front of stadium in 10 minutes.

A few years ago we bought Kid Rock and Keystone flags and flew them off the boats at LOTW.
Yeah baby!

Spent an hour cutting it out piece by piece it was so tangled up in there.
Before that last 10 inch dumping of snow, I had the garden hose out for daily use washing off the muddy dog feet. Well, some of that hose was left laying over the sidewalk when it snowed. Got sucked into the two stage snow thrower. Yep, about an hour cutting that hose out. The entire time thinking…. “I’m going to the hospital today”

Heavy on the Kid Rock last night/today. Gearing up for the show tonight at Target Center!

Year in and year out I have discussions at the boat launch in reference to fishing this stretch of the river. This area is considered INLAND WATERS. So the season is closed per MN regulations.
Correct in saying the season for walleye, sauger, bass (game fish) is closed, However that section is not closed to fishing. You can still target other species that are not closed.

Me and Mike W. put a plastic jug marker on the sunken can yesterday. This is on the red can line south of Lions Levee.

22 ft Hewscraft probably drafts less water than a 18 ft Ranger. Anyway, Liberty does not make my best of list for east side ramps. For sure 0% chance I’ll use it on a weekend. (And my cabin is like a 3/4 mile from the ramp…)

It’s pretty shallow in between the harbor and the main lake
One reason I’d pass on Liberty if you have a big boat. It’s just Ok when the lake is up. If it’s low like it has been and any kind of wind blowing in there, it sucks. If you hit bottom you have a good chance of hitting rock.
Hunters Point and Fishers would be the best east side options for larger boats IMO.

Add me to the list of guys never having a “wind knot” Someone needs to take a pic and show me what it looks like….

C. They may be saving you some money. Assuming you live in Minnesota (Land of 10,000 taxes) if they split the order to keep it under $100, you avoid a .50 cent tax on the shipping.

The major financial problem with the USPS is unfunded retiree pension liabilities.

MLB is hypocritical since they’ve jumped in bed with casinos and online sports books.

My condolences, Randy. Sorry for your loss. That was a wonderful tribute to your parents. You are a good man and even greater son.

I also keep a skunk kit in the truck for the dog. (Hydrogen peroxide, Dawn dish soap and baking soda) Refresh the kit every year or so, Also keep a muzzle handy in case you need to remove a hook from a dog that can get nippy.

Their donation process gives you the option to use Paypal.
There is also a credit card option. I have made donations to Polar Plungers for several years/events. Never have had any issue using my credit card.
Donations go to the Special Olympics. It’s a well run organization. Any amount is welcome and appreciated!

Don’t have many regrets. Couple of fist fights I should have walked away from….
In 1980 I wish I knew people would pay $2 for a bottle of water and $5 for a cup of coffee in the future. Water was free and coffee was .25 cents a cup most everywhere back then. That would have been life changing advice I probably would have ignored.

Month into retirement and all is great! Still in decompression mode. Definitely had the “Frog in the boiling water” job. Check out this video and others on his channel. Super informative on the topic of retiring early as you can.
