i have a similar set up 16-1/2 lowe with a 60 hp 4 stroke merc. i run a three blade 90% of the time, but throw on a 4 blade when i have another guy or two and gear. I lost about 4 mph, but it helps alot getting on plane.

May 13, 2009 at 10:33 pm #776525i’m using a semi mud flap with the lettering down. you could probably use a rubber tail gate protector too. cut it with a sawzall
May 11, 2009 at 3:01 pm #775631careful, dogs like sonny’s too.
left a jar on the garage floor once. found it later tore apart in the back yard. the wife just about threw up when see let the pup in.April 6, 2009 at 2:30 pm #766084they are also notorious for cap and rotor problems. i have to take mine off and clean the terminals about every oil change.
March 27, 2009 at 1:35 pm #763226where can i find the “new bait rules” Shawn? i’ve read through the 2009 regulations, but it’s very general.
my father in-law just gave me his old cast net and thrower (never used and at least 25 years old). i plan on trying it sometime soon.
March 17, 2009 at 1:28 pm #759391pretty tough steering someone in the right direction on this one. i’ve tried about every brand and style. right now i’m on a carbon fiber klein. go visit a small bike shop that’s been around awhile. ride a few around the block. once you find one, don’t be afraid to ask about swaping out parts. (pedals, seats, grips) a good shop will really cater to you. good luck!
March 3, 2009 at 4:17 pm #754503i throw with at least a 7’er. with all the wind resistance they have, the length is key with me. mine is also a med. light. but it’s tough keep them out of the trees with the soft rod.
March 3, 2009 at 2:35 pm #754445they had the picture and story laying on the counter at my kids daycare when i dropped them off this morning.

2) then to the man cave to work on muscle cars!February 18, 2009 at 6:21 pm #749856Ranger? not quite. I’m rock’n a 16′ alum V. don’t own a rod I paid over $50 for. hey I’m Belgian after all!
February 17, 2009 at 7:56 pm #749559Thanks everyone! Don’t worry BK, the white rod post was hilarious to read!
I’m going to try and keep it under $50. I’ll be mostly out of a boat and 50/50 in the rod holder. what i’m using now is my heavyer bass rod which is a 7′ MH lighting rod.
My next problem will be were to put all the rod and reels in the boat because I usually start out bass’n then set up shop after it gets dark.
thanks again.February 13, 2009 at 3:18 pm #748039leatherman tool
12″ pc of 12ga jumper wire w/ alligator clips.
crank up self powered led flashlight.
couple of yellow and red wire nuts.
couple of big garbage bags (can use for ponchos or what ever else)
i keep this, plus my other things in a rubbermade tote. throw in the boat and take out every trip rather than loading up the hatches.February 11, 2009 at 7:59 pm #747259your carboard idea sounds simple and effective. you might try to take that piece of card board and make a big spool of it too. easier to take off that way, but then every two revolutions would equal one yard. that’s a lot of winding. your tape line would be your marker line too. still think i’d walk it off though. less room for error (tangles). get a buddy tie one end to his leg and have him hold the spool. then you take the middle and start walking….
February 6, 2009 at 10:07 pm #745486counted a dozen boats under l&d 15 on the corp of eng. web cam this afternoon.
February 4, 2009 at 6:11 pm #744480i’ve always gone on a sat or sun and it’s tough to get around especially when you’ve got a little one with you. is thurs and fri usually a lot less crouded?
January 29, 2009 at 12:28 am #742467i’ve got a 6yr old female. bout 80lbs. great with the kids, but with her energy and size the kids often get knocked over and end up crying anyway. LOUD-these dogs can bark. mine even barks through the bark collar. like she can’t help it. goes through a 40lb bang of food per month and she’s lean. she’d go through much more if i’d let her. totally MY dog. she’s got to be around me as much as possible, but she’s an outside dog. not much the hunter. sticks to the trails. doesn’t like the thick stuff. i mountain bike a lot with her in the summer she keeps up awesome. had her up to 35 mph before I ran out of gas. love her, but she can be a handle full! good luck in your decision.
January 23, 2009 at 4:08 pm #740690thanks guys. this helps a ton. i’m not stuck on abu’s, i’ve just had good luck in the past with them but all 5000 series. the only thing i am stuck on is that it’s a round style with a clicker.
January 19, 2009 at 7:28 pm #739050Got her figured out! called marcum but they’re back logged on calls and i didn’t care to leave a message, so i called cabela’s and was ready to return but wasn’t thrilled about the 2-3 week turn around. started boxing her back up an figured since it’s defective anyway i’d poke around a little first. first place i tried was the transducer connector. took apart and found three wires soldered to two places. black, red, and bare stranded. red went to one term and black and bare went to the other. noticed that two strands of the bare got soldered to the red. new that couldn’t be right so i cut them, plugged in and BINGO, she came alive. glad i don’t have to return now but Very dissapointed in the quality control side. this transducer should have never left the door that way. oh well, time to go fishing.
December 17, 2008 at 11:52 pm #729694we had a rayovac guy do some training at my work for led lighting. the best one’s as far as light output are the single led fixtures with higher wattages. 1 watts about 45 lumins, 3 watt will be around 100 lumins. more leds don’t always mean more light.
