My co worker lives and has a CC in ND, he also has a out of state Utah CC that has reciprocity in almost the entire midwest. Seems to be the way to go.
Last class I took there were a couple of states that if you had their carry permit it covered most the rest, as retirement is close, next class we’ll get them as we’ll be traveling more.
Al
if you have a mn ccw…you can apply in new hampshire and florida and you will get the reciprocity in almost every other state….downside is florida you have to apply in person, new hamp you just send em a check in the mail

I guess there’s something about their eyes which lets you know if poisonous or not, who really stands around long enough to notice?
i think it has somethin to do with the pattern on the belly side, verticle bars or horizontal bars…dont remember which way means poisonous though, or if its even true
and me and a couple buddies came across a rattler on afton golf course 3 years ago, slithering its way across the fairway

and this thread proves it….. but how many harley guys do the same things?
Dear Mr. Rocket Rider,
What this thread proves is…dead is dead no matter who’s fault it is.
Keep both wheels on the ground and live long.
Very true, but how many people now automatically think I ride wheelies and drive 150mph now? I’d be willing to bet 90% ….. guilt by association
July 17, 2012 at 7:20 am #1084777I ride a rocket, and what I notice is this….. there’s a lot of people out there quick to point the finger at a rider on a rocket who does somethin stupid, or daring, or riding the fine line of both, and this thread proves it….. but how many harley guys do the same things? Or even people in autos for that matter? Before you point your fingers, check your hands, are they clean? Hope so
July 10, 2012 at 3:58 pm #1082673its super easy to do, i did mine….its literally 4 bolts and the whole drive shaft comes out

July 10, 2012 at 4:09 am #1082513i just bought a cheapy casting rod to kind of break myself into the world of baitcasters (got a revo s on clearance at gander for dirt cheap, couldnt resist)
i got a 7 foot berkley lightning rod shock in medium heavy, and i love it (i fell for the “engineered for superlines” marketing gimmic) but i LOVE it. its a split grip and when im reeling in with the fighting butt anchored in my elbow area (doesnt quite reach all the way to my elbow) i can feel
every crankbaits action all the wat up through my shoulder its amazing, never really had that in a rod at that price before. i only wish they came in longer lengths, with a 7’10” or 8 foot rod, you could cast those cranks a couple milesJuly 9, 2012 at 10:33 pm #1082388what luck some people are fortunate enough to be blessed with, quite the feat being able to drive that much, insane to think about…i recently seen a trucker with “1,000,000 accident free miles” printed on his door, thats crazy! wasnt there also another guy or gal that drove his or her pontiac (maybe) 100k miles without changing the oil? i cant eve hit a pothole without losing a balljoint or tearing apart my cv joint

July 6, 2012 at 12:35 am #1081446as the old saying goes, locks only keep honest people out, thats bogus people do that, why even bother trying to lug a motor of a transom, if youre that daring, just unhook and take the whole boat, we need laws like some 3rd world countries sometimes…. steal and lose a hand

i agree 17 would be on low side, i would have to say it would be low 20s, with 24 or 25 being on the high side

I too have had some interest in rod building, but the initial investment seems high to me for just a few rods.
it may be on the expensive side, maybe not, depends i guess…. starting out its always gonna cost a little more because of the “learning curve” my buddy did a class through
community ed and built one that way, not that expensive sort of a cheap rod, but the feel and action is comparable to his st croix premier rod, and he told me the satisfaction he gets from nailin pigs with the rod he built for a specific purpose is worth way more to him than a legend elite, and i believe himeJune 30, 2012 at 3:01 am #1080095Quote:
The chev dealers in red wing and hastings wanted to charge me over 600 for a t-stat in my car, took it to a guy that actually worked for one of em and is ase certified, not like that matters anyways, I was out the door barely over 200, and he even threw in an oil change
What I forgot to mention, is he set up his own shop

Don’t throw a crank bait. Way to many weeds. If you want something to move and get them throw a buzz bait up top or a spinner bait like suggested below. If it’s weedy there is no way you will get a crank through.
Ever hear of ripping a lipless through the weeds? DEADLY on largemouth.
Throw a strike king redeye shad (best for this method due to their shape) out there and start cranking it back, when you feel weeds on it lower the rod tip slightly and do a hard quick snap of the rod. The weeds will come off and that is when the bass will strike, hold on because it will darn near knock the rod out of your hands. If you dont get bit then continue cranking and do the same if you get more weeds.
X2 cant go wrong with blue gill colors either

umm what about balsam or leech?
actually now that im thinkin about it…. about 10 years ago went to a lake in siren, wi …clam lake i think (big clam/little clam) one lake separated by a narrow opening with a bridge people jump from and swim , we fished mainly in big clam i believe… didnt need much else that a green pumpkin powerworm or tube texas rigged, a hula popper, and a spinner bait in blue gill colors …. great action all weekend …. and i guarentee when a bucketmouth flies out of the water and smokes a popper, s/he will be hooked for life
