Ok, you guys both got this old softy. I went to bed with my 10-year-old chocolate lab and wet eyes.
Obviously, I don’t post much. This one got me. Ironically, I bought “Lacy” from a guy here on IDO.

It happened to my first chocolate lab, Dusty, at 9 1/2 years old. Just finished our last day of pheasant hunting for that year at about 1 pm. She went into distress later that night. Got her to a vet, too late. Put her down in the morning. Best hunter I ever had too. She trained me. Lucky, we got 10 seasons together. I have a couple of friends that still bring up a few of her retrieves…
Still miss hunting with her 22 years later.
I will be going out on Friday Sept 1st for Teal. Skip the weekend crowd and back out on Monday. Haven’t seen a lot of teal in my local area, but they are around.[/
We have to wait until Saturday.
I just replaced mine after just 2 seasons. I was down to about 3 or 4 hours last August. Good now.
Thanks for the nice report. Hope the cut is better!
Were there any bigger fish being caught that you know of? Did you look or try deeper or just stick with what was working?
Thanks.
Ha Ha I have several excuses. 34 degrees the first morning, heck of a cold front. 30 mile an hour winds the second day, warm. Then thunderstorms that evening and another cold front, not as bad, the third day. Two of us caught maybe about 60 walleyes over the 3 days. So fishing was okay, but not what I expected. Most fish on leaches on the reefs at 28 to 32 feet. One nice school shallower, about 16 feet along a shoreline. Crawlers worked too, not as well though.
Hard to complain about that beautiful lake in any event. Great time.
Well…
We ended up going to Rainy Lake instead. Still want to do a Sak trip someday. Maybe yet this summer, but later.
Best of luck. Let us know what you learn.
I have been ordering Cialis from Global Pharmacy Plus in Canada for about 10 years. I send an email of my doctors prescription to them, use a MasterCard and have never had a problem. It’s all on line. You can call too. They might take bit to ship, but it’s always gotten to me and always works.
I just got one on a new Warrior purchase. Talked into it by The Boat Center. I fish alone most of the time and it does help, both in and out. I like it.
Always put the strap and safety chain on in addition. I do it right at the ramp.
My 2012 MX 1825 gets wet in every single compartment except the glove box. It really is a pain. (It would have taken so little more to build it right). Looks like a good winter project in the man cave to work on that! Too bad the later models haven’t been improved.
Thanks Scratcher. I just heard from another source that the leeches were real small last year. I’m NOT willing to cheat and bring them in from MN. as he suggested, so that’s why I’m asking. I’ll just go with what I find in ND. Money is not the issue, and the added information would be great for a first time trip.
Appreciate your help!
I don’t mean to steal the post…
I am headed to Devils for the first time Sunday. I know you cannot import leeches into ND. Where is the best place to buy leeches in ND either in Devils Lake or on the way there?
Thanks in advance…
I’ll be happy to report back after the trip.
Best game of the year for me!!!
I love a well pitched game. Tonight was great…
I have a 17 foot alumacraft with the square stern. It happens to be in pretty good shape. It is painted for duck hunting but I don’t use it anymore. I’d let it go for $300 if you are interested. I live in Hastings.
All true. Same for me. It is one of the few disappointments I have with the boat. Another would be insulated live well/coolers.
I second the St. Croix panfish series rods. I have the 7 foot light. Nice backbone, soft tip, great for panfish and even split shot rigging walleyes. Ultra light is too soft for me. The 7 foot balances well with a spinning reel in the “1000” size. They list for $120, but you can find them cheaper. Good luck!
I agree, turn them in now. I would also like to report that the same thing occasionally goes on at the Hastings dam and south on the inland stretch from Prescott to Lock and Dam 2. Hopefully someone takes care of this…
I run the same – MX1825, 150, same prop. I only trim up above about 3800 RPM. At that time, depending on load, I would trim up very gradually to around 3/4 trim at 5500 or more RPM, which I almost never run. My experience is that the 1825 needs to be trimmed down all the way most of the time to avoid prop slip on turns and bow porpoise.
I believe a new Fleet Farm credit card is going to be in the works and the old Cabela’s Club card is going out the window. I’ll spend my perks elsewhere.
Want to have fun… just list your nastiest neigbor has “home”.
Just kidding…
Trying to hold back my anger…
James you are missing nothing!
Democrats buying votes…
Brian – am I ever with you on this one!!! I am really sick of driving on a freeway and having a cigg butt bounce up in front of me and hit the car or truck. You smoke em, you keep em! I don’t want em.
On top of that, I hate fishing on any body of water, but the river seems the worst, and seeing butts floating buy…
For me, that’s even worse!
My rant…
Geez Dean, you could even get your thermos of coffee in there. Of course, from what I hear, it would spill…
PS Great seeing you yesterday.
I am also interested in the live well gasket. In addition, I am interested in retrofitting the front live well so that it drains properly. The current drain is on the sidewall and not the bottom and leaves a good quarter inch of water in the live well. In Minnesota this is illegal as we would be in violation of the AIS laws (don’t get me started!).
Any solutions?
