The river at Muscoda is up from 2.25 to 3.82 this morning and the flow is 15,700 cfs up from 8,800 last Thursday. It’s been very low for this time of year, but up after the recent rains.

Same thing here. Just got in from the garage working on my trailer. Replaced the light, still didn’t work. Ended up being the fuse in my truck. (Silverado, under the hood in the big fuse box)

Boat fever, Whiskerkev is right on. I guide and live on the Lower Wisconsin out of Muscoda. It is a challenge getting around in that section of the river unless you have a flatbottom or tunnel, but if one spends a good bit of time on the water, you learn how to read the breaks and channels. Your rig sounds a little large for that area. More towards Sauk might be better for you, but I really don’t have any first hand knowlege of that section. As far as being a nice river to fish, you won’t find one any more peaceful. In our area it is unusual seeing more than one or two boats a day. canoe’s, yes! The fishing is very good, but yes, the walleyes have to be 18 inches and sauger, 15 inches. That’s usually the problem, although there are many good fish in the system.(3 fish limit) Smallmouth, northern and catfish fishing is excellent. Hope this helps.

Thanks again guys. I’ll test drive it with the aluminum and see what the speed and rpm’s are and will report back. I was hoping I would get some responses from someone who runs the same set-up and find out what they have on.

Thanks guys. It comes with a 19 pitch aluminum, so guess I’ll start with the same size in stainless.

Here’s a couple of late March largemouths caught in the Wisconsin River backwaters.

I’ve had good luck the last year with the Strike King redeye shad. They are something a little different. They come with quality hooks, so you don’t have to change them out like with some of the cheaper baits. Can’t go wrong with the standard Bill Lewis rattletrap either. I am a believer in having several different styles and brands with me. Some work better than others on any given day. They all have a different sound. The Lucky Craft brand catch fish, but are very expensive!!

I do not have any personal knowledge of these, but I was given these as possibilities:
    Bass Boat Insurance 800-476-5667
    Anglers Advantage
    United Marine Underwriters unitedmarine.net

    Hope this helps.
