How’s the trolling bite around Maiden Rock, Bay City area been lately? Anyone picking anything up by Hi lok sa ramp? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Depth, trolling speed, colors used? Thanks
Have they made any progress on the ramp and lot the last few weeks? One other question. If you put in at the marina above the lock about how long does it take to get locked through?
Fished Pepin on Sunday. We got 2 keepers. Two quality fish though. One went 4.2 lbs and the other 3 lbs. We got 12 to 15 other eyes that went 13-14″ We were trolling #5 shad raps in walleye color. 10-12 fow. Trying to post a pic of the fish, First time so I dont know what will happen
The gills and crappies are biting very well on pool 7 as well right now. Size is above average for the most part as well. We’ve been getting crappies on minnows under a bobber and the gills on waxies.
We were fishing the river with a minnesota liscense. The river is a boundary water between minnesota and wisconsin. Limit is 25 crappie/angler. There was 2 of us fishing.
Lawrence do you ever get up to pool 7 in the backwaters by Trempealeau for panfish? That is where we always go and had very good luck last fall there. Going on Saturday if the rain holds off so I will post results when I get home
Got a chance to run up to pool seven again at Trempealeau,Wi. with my grandpa and cousin for some more panfishing and boy was it fun. We hammered them We got 66 crappie and limited out on bluegills. What a beautiful day to be out on the water.
best luck for me was just using a minnow about 6 feet under a bobber in about 8-10 ft. of water. Gills came in about 4 foot of water fishing about 2 foot deep with crawlers.
Thought I would report on my trip to pool 7 even though no one else seems to fish this pool. Fishing was a bit tough on Saturday with the 15 mph NW winds but we caught alot of slabs. WE brought home 33 crappies and 10 gills. Crappies ran from 10-13″ with 5 being over 13″ Was fun but the wind sure took it out of me
