Do it James. Maybe then you will realize that not all of your supporters over the years exactly align with your political views. Should be a great business plan. This site used to be a refuge from the cesspools of typical social media but apparently it can no longer be that way. Good luck to you and your sponsors. I wish all outdoorsman could find a place free from this BS and realize that we have a lot more in common with each other than just our political leaning. We can’t even share some fishing spots or help someone out with some techniques or other advise. We can’t share questions on life or help around the house without devolving into a political debate over who is at fault. It’s sad this site has come to this.

A non condensing Boiler in your situation does not really make much sense. In order to run a non condensing Boiler at low temps you will need to add some sort of mixing device to lower the supply temp to the floor and allow the boiler to run at a high enough temp to not condense. Any time a non condensing Boiler runs with a return water temp below 135-140 degrees it will condense and destroy itself over time. I’ve seen boilers that were completely rusted out after just a few years running like this. The cost of replacing the venting and adding either a mixing valve or doing injection mixing will probably be about the same as the cost difference between a non vs condensing Boiler. Combine that with efficiency over the life of the boiler and ability to use outdoor reset to control the supply temperature will shift the balance even further. There are many new condensing boilers with stainless steel heat exchangers available today that are Rock solid units. I am a master steam and hot water installer and master plumber, feel free to pm me if you would like.

I’m pretty sure they typically will go out relatively close to one another. It really doesn’t matter though because all it takes is one and it can become unfishable for a week or longer. For walleyes anyways. Im going up the 10th and I’m feeling cautiously optimistic. Watch the usgs gauges they usually pop loose in the 10-16 foot range. It will be a zoo, that is a gaurantee. Hopefully the golf cart kids are still working!

Mike is correct, make sure the 10 years is from the very end of any probation or sentence. I have been through all of this with my buddy over the last couple years. If you have any doubt about the 10 years, I do not recommend going to the port of entry. We did this 2 years ago in ft. Francis going up to the river. After being denied for the RABC he was deemed inadmissible. We were then escorted by armed gaurds back to the bridge. That was the easy part. Trying to then come back into the us was a nightmare. We were pulling a boat in a snowstorm, my buddy was just deemed inadmissible into Canada, it was 1230 in the morning and we said we just wanted to go fishing. It turns out not all of the border agents are familiar with rainy river fishing. We tried to explain our situation with numerous people for the next 3 hours. Finally after all of our “background checks” came back we were released. No harm done but damn that was a nerve-racking experience. When I first applied for a RABC I went down to the BCA and obtained my record to verify my DUI was removed and then answered NO on the question and sent a copy of the record with it. Maybe unnecessary but at least I had an excuse for why I answered that way on the form because it is so vague.

I made the switch from Frontline to bravecto last year with my 3yr old springer. He ended up getting anaplasmosis from a deer tick the year before while using Frontline. Bravecto has been much more effective. Every tick that we found on him last year was dead. We have not had any side effects at all.

Definitely too early too tell. Every inch of snow makes it seem farther away. We always book the last weekend and hope for the best. Some years you fish pike in the portable, some years you huddle up and fish sturgeon and maybe if your lucky every few years you get into a crazy walleye bite. For me the lead up and watching the flow gauges before you go is half the fun. Every year is so different and if you can roll with the punches you will always have a good time.

I install boilers for a living, If you have a diagram style expansion tank there will be a schrader valve on the tank to adjust the air pressure. If you push the valve and water comes out your tank has failed. No need to replace a cast iron boiler unless it is beyond repair. Your HVAC company should do a combustion test on the boiler and if it is running good you could get another 20 years out of it. If not, most of the time a good cleaning is all that is needed. Installing a high efficient boiler that only heats high temp emitters (radiators/baseboard) is a not necessary. A boiler becomes high efficient by condensing the flue gases to extract the extra 15%. If your return water temp is consistently above 135 degrees the boiler will not condense and is effectively a 80-85% boiler. There are some other advantages such as modulation rate and outdoor reset control but most of the time it doesn’t justify the added cost. The ignitor issue is completely unrelated to the water issues as was said above. A good purge/bleed and a new expansion tank should be all you need. Adding an air eliminator (air scoop) will help you remove air automatically.
