I know the Minnesota state record was caught back in 1947 I believe. Never seen pics but I guess it was 22″s and a little over 5lbs but wholly macaroni that thing is ridiculous

Hopefully we become a throwing team. Rudolph and Carlson is one of the better TE tandems in the league, Jerome Simpson is a good downfield threat so is Jennings and jarius wright in the slot then you got cordarelle and throw in a qb with a big arm and we have all the tools on offense to scare any defensive coordinator in the league. Peterson isnt going anywhere. We really need another defensive end unless we somehow resign #69 so being able to somehow trade up with jacksonville for clowney would be awesome but I’m a dreamer.

Agreed, anybody in Houston who agreed to that trade would be fired the next day. Say good bye to the chuck & duck west coast offense. Turner, if he can find a quarterback will throw the ball down field.

Patterson , Simpson running down field with Jennings in the slot. Throw in a tight end or two and Peterson will be fine.

Need a defense and a quarterback, most other things will cure them selves after that.

Finally. I’m excited for throwing downfield. Patterson is going to be very good just needs a qb to get the ball down the field. Cassel can freeman certainly can. Houston would never trade an rb for an rb. JAX desperately needs an rb but they’ll likely never trade down for AD. Thats just my dream.

Freeman has severe character issues which may be able to be dealt with but he’s very unreliable, innacurate and inconsistent. Thats why Tampa wouldn’t put up with him because lets face it most teams really don’t care what you’re doing off field as long as you’re lighting it up come gameday. Even freemans pro bowl campaign year I think he was only completing a little more than 50% which is not acceptable unless you’re throwing bombs all day.I hope he does get his game together. He has a big arm and can move. Hopefully he figures it out I know norv turner loves him. Otherwise I think kid from LSU will drop to the middle rounds and he will be a nice pickup for us. As for defense we have some key pieces in Greenway, Rhodes is going to be good, Cook is decent, Harrison smith is good, Robison can play but we need another de unless we somehow resign jared. Sharif floyd can play but I still dont know about guion. John Abraham is free agent so is Adrian Wilson but both those guys are up there in age and $ that would fill DE and safety though. Idk it’ll be interesting to see how they draft this year and what they do in the offseason.

You must not be married. No women I know would allow a kitty on the wall in the bedroom. Maybe a rainbow or brown trout depending on the color scheme

Trade AP to Jax for #3 pick and jadaveon clowney. Let Cassel role a whole year with full camp as the #1 qb. Were better off drafting zach mettenburger in the 3rd or 4th round. Vikes dont have a good track record drafting first round qbs. We need more help on D than we need a qb. Cassel has proven he can win in this league he just needs to be in a better atmosphere than with Frazier and mustachegrave. Look how the falcon offense exploded when mustachgrave left. Mettenburger is compared to kaepernick by many scouts hes hurt right now so he won’t make the combine due to that we may get him late and that would be sweet. Bridgewater is just too much to pay. Hes going to be a high first rounder and imo we need more help at other positions. Like DE, DT, ILB we need a nickelback and another safety desperately.

That’s kind of a crazy sight. I suppose there’s some really nice kitties around that discharge. Wish I would’ve known a few years back of it when I was a student at SCSU the roomies and I could’ve had quite the fun there catching big cats. Thats really amazing how different the water temps are.

Large ratsos and gulp work great when the vertical thing isnt working. All about experimentation. Bladebaits/sonars have worked quite well for me at times too.

You wouldn’t think it but there is such a thing as too small a hook for crappie fishing. When using a lite action rod you gotta give your hook set a little something because your rod will bend. In deeper water I like to use a medium light action rod with a good spring bobber for crappie with 2lb test and like a #6 size hook/jig (ratso.) I’ve noticed that I’ve had fewer problems with them not being hooked. Shallower I like an light or ultralight 1-2lb test little smaller jig. Im no pro but I’ve not lost nearly as many at the hole as I used to but its good practice to always get on the knees by the hole and be ready because its not if its when and when you start getting comfy thats when they pop off

Norv turner ruined a good san diego chargers offense and team but maybe that hes only an OC he may be alright. I like Zimmer though. Hopefully we can trade up with jacksonville, get clowney run Cassel another year and see how he does with a full training camp as the no.1. Manziel and Bridgewater are not the answer.I rather we get mettenberger from LSU. He’ll go like 4th round and many compare him to kaepernick. He’s hurt right now and won’t make the combine thats why his stock is dropping. I dont trust Manziel without someone to groom him like a josh McDaniels or harbaugh. As for rivers that would be awesome but I think hes under contract through 2015 and he will be pricey. But that would be cool. I think we need to draft defense. We need held at DE, DT, LB, DB and we need another safety. Allen is gone, k Williams is done, our linebackers other than greenway are suspect at best Xavier rhodes is going to be very good and cook is ok but we need better than the practice squad guys we had the last couple weeks and sanford is a bad safety. Hopefully we can get some free agent help. Adrian Wilson will be available but hes getting old same with john Abraham at de but again age. Idk it’ll be interesting to see what happens with the draft.

What action rod do you use? What lb test line? Size of jig/hook? Kind of bait/jig. All these are contributing factors.

I like to focus about 3-8ft of water typically on an inside bend (out of the channel/current a bit more) I typically mark the same amount of fish but they just seem indifferent to whatever is there. usually at either dawn or dusk when you do mark a fish you can at least get them to rise towards your bait. After dark not so much. In fact they seem to ignore it completly most the time? Then again river fishing is a whole different animal from lake fishing. I do know that you don’t really want to move around in that shallow of water. Drill a couple holes, be quiet and wait typically catches you more fish than running and gunning. In 5 fow they hear you even if the ice is a foot thick.

Mouse patterns, frog patterns, even something resembling nightcrawlers or crawfish. I dont do a lot of fly fishing but I have caught several 20″+ browns on huge panther martins or big x raps that havw coughed up frog chunks and I’ve even had one cough up what I believe was a baby duck! Big trout are super opportunistic at least in my limited experience with them.

I know its an awful lot to ask. I think there were about 8 “if we get or do” statements in my last post. Bottom line is unfortunately the vikings probably won’t be doing any damage for awhile and Manziel would more than likely pull a Phillip rivers if we drafted him anyhow. Phillip river’s now there’s a QB who would look good in purple I believe hes a charger through at least 2016 though.

Vikings actually have a lot of very solid pieces and a lot of weapons on offense.we have 2 very solid tight ends, Patterson is going to be a superstar, Jennings is still good, our offensive line is good and AD still has a lot left to give. Trading him i dont think is the answer simply because we wont get enough in return for him. Gerhardt is not the answer he does ok simply because our run blocking is probably the best in the nfl. On defense however, we need a lot of help. Defensive line is rough, linebacking core needs help, we need another safety, another DE, Rhodes will be good at DB and Cook is ok but we need help there but mostly we need a head coach obviously, Musgrave is a joke too. I mean look what Atlanta did last year when he left. If vikes can get Clowney to play OLB/DE another DT hit the free agent market and pick up a frank grimes or even see what nnamdi is up to and find a free safety…

Unless the vikings move up 3 or 4 spots in the draft there is no chance that he will be a Viking. if a team can keep him out of trouble ( Not sure that will be possible ) he would be a great franchise QB.

As a Viking fan I dont think hes the guy we want. Way too much ego. Roll Cassel another year then hopefully we can draft famous Jameis. Go Noles national champs baby! Manziel punishes himself too much running the ball and I just dont think he will last long in the NFL. The guy can make all the throws though and has a very good arm. The problem is that he knows that too and has an incredibly big head on him if you catch my drift and with us undoubtebly having a new inexperienced nfl coach manziel won’t be able to be controlled here.

I’ve also read panfish tend to prefer a stable stretch of weather. It can be negative 40 as long as that pattern has been in place for a couple days they will feed. That said the best day of crappie fishing I ever had was after a cold stretch in the end of February. It was around 0 degrees for 3 days straight. I woke to 30 degrees and drove to bayport. At first light I had only 2 bites in an hour and a half. Around 830am it started to mist and it was game on. I couldn’t even fish two rods it was so frantic. After about 30 minutes I already had 25 in a 5gal pail with water in it. I was throwing smaller fish back to keep bigger ones and throwing everything 13″s + back as well. A friend showed up and got his limit in another 20 minutes. We wanted to keep fishing even though we were done keeping fish because we had never caught fish at that level before. However, soon after we had filled our limits it started raining a little bit harder they completely shut off.

Typically I’ve always been told that predatory fish (walleye, musky, bass, even big trout) hunt more during low pressure. Couple possible explanations being that a.) Low pressure typically means a storm is coming or its going to rain and fish eat before they lay low.b.) I have even been told that with lower atmospheric pressure fish are able to move more fluidly through the water thus they hunt more?
