Got a bite at both pools, lots of small fish in the tailwaters ,with the bigger fish down stream ,in the channel and on the channel edges. Vertical jigging ringies and twister tails with a minnow seem to work best. Water is very clean in both pools.

Take a look at the new fire line,it has a little line memory as it will not tangle on the rods but it is suttle yet tuffer than all the other super lines on the market.A good rod will only compilment all lines. The rod tells you whats happening on the other end.Pick up a g-loomis 720 imx jigging rod and it will tell you whats going on the other end.BEST LITE JIGGING ROD ON THE MARKET.

You are so right about fishing a body of water that you want to fish, and very good advice about hiring a guide. As you know it takes years to find all the little suttle things it takes to catch fish all the time. A guide is a great short cut. Your guide to better fishing JIMMY O

You may need some tips on how to fish thru out the winter, most of the time the bite will be going if you know how to fish,I would recommend a day in a boat with a guide to show you how.Thank You JIMMY O

Slow bite, and cond. are right. I think there is a lot of bait in the tail waters at every dam, making it like fishing in a bait tank.It will get better as winter goes on.Was a great shad hatch last summer.

Was at Guttenberg on sunday, caught a lot of little fish in the tail waters, but seen the guys pulling raps were doing better on bigger fish.Caught a lot of eyes all the way down the channel, but most were smaller, and a few saugers below the wing damm below the boat ramp. D,N.R. creel reporter said it was slow all weekend.Keep on fishing.JIMMMY O

Do you do any hard water fishing?? Why do you think every body likes spring bobbers or coiled wire for the lite bite.??G loomis 720 imx is the same way with it;s soft tip, fish don;t feel you ,but you can see them pulling or holding the tip down and you just caught a fish that you did not feel bite.We all know howw soft a fish can feel in deeper water. And when you have a good rod on the market, why would a company change.??My nod is all g-loomis,remmber they set the pace ,and they don,t have to look back. THANK YOU

Try a g-loomis 720 imx and you will be very well satisfied, best vertical jigging rod on the market, barr none.I guided for over 30 years, and I haven’t found a better rod to fish with, and I would recommend it for jigging year round.

Why don’t you drive a little further north and go fishing so you can give us a report, instead of whinning about all the damms being closed or iced in.Get in the game geeeezzz.
