Not only a great looking buck, but a wonderfully written report… especially for a 15 year old. Way to go!

A lot of great insight from the post. It is common for the DNR to make such a “big” change this quickly on a lake? I wonder do they take in account the numbers of boats and fisherman into this assessment as well?
Time will tell, but I agree with Lip I fish Mille Lacs for the potential of a big fish, so what ever decisions can be done to keep those fish I am all for it.

I was in the same boat as you (or should we say field) and was told the same thing. Pick up a 870. I did, has been a great gun for a guy just getting started!

I was out last night and it was pretty slow for me. I hope those of you heading out on Saturday will have more luck. I look forward to hearing a report.
I was on the west side in about 22 feet of water. Didn’t mark a fish until about 7:30p.m. caught just one small one. Good luck and share you success!

Anyone fishing Calhoun tomorrow (2/8/07) after work? I am planning on heading out.
Should I call up to Moores before I go or can I expect someone there tomorrow afternoon around 4:30?

Not sure that adding WD40 to water is a good idea not matter what it does for your ice holes… call me crazy

What a great idea guys. I think this makes plenty of sense. I see the Metro Area Forum as a place to ask questions and suggest helpful hints for the Twin Cities area. I am excited. Thanks for the change

Dan, I am sorry but what the heck does your ridiculous commet mean. Being a liberal I haven’t dropped my head in the sand any time. To say you are going to shoot them makes me afraid of people like you. This world is made up of many people from many back grounds and it is not okay to make such a rude commet about people that are different than you.
I trully hope this was just an off the cuff comment but if not WOW I am amazed by this post.

I too am a Christian, at school to be a pastor. I too think the Bible is the word of God given to us as a tool for our living. I do not think it is okay to pull verses out of the Bible as use them as bullets to argue your point. It is important to consider the entire Bible and all the text that is given as well as the context of the text that was going on. Just because one is Christian and reads the Bible doesn’t make them anti-homosexual because I am able to understand our God a God of all creation. You are assuming that God doesn’t accept these people as people of God for the way they were created by God. This isn’t an issue of choice so don’t worry about your kids deciding to become gay, if they are it’s the way they were created. We need to stop being so judgmental like we have a direct line to the mind of God and know what God thinks and doesn’t think. I remember reading something about not noticing the speck in another’s eye while looking past the LOG in your own.

It is hard for me to understand why people are so frightened by gay marriage. The issues with our families today have nothing to do with gay men and women it has to do with unhealthy marriages and children being created by people who don’t know how to or care to take care of their children. Death is the one thing all of us fear, why is it such a great accomplishment to think that a state now has a right to force that upon someone who committed a crime. This is not advancement, this is a set back from what this country should be about. Fear is what the government wants and by taking freedom away from gays, criminals or those wishing to have an abortion is one way for us to have control over things that we don’t even need to worry about. It is called freedom and as long as your freedom isn’t messed with its fine and you right wing folks love to see it taken away from others. Just don’t get it.

Maybe I should, but I don’t know what these new blades look like. Anyone have a link to a site that sells them?

If you go to apple.com and find the “I-tunes” store they will have the shows that are avaialable. I think one would have to pay to download it. As far as your DVD’s there is a way to convert them to the I-pod. I know that, but I am unsure where to buy that or download that from. sorry cant answer all the questions, but hope it helps.

Was on Spring on Friday. No luck. Fished both plastics and minnows and not a bite. Was real windy so hard to find a place to stay warm and try to fish. Thanks for the help. You were right the launch was shallow, but was able to get on and off.
