It also helped me recover a $100 JT snare rod 20 ft below after I watched it get pulled down by a fish. LOL

Did you get the fish too? grin

Does any one have any info on the quality of the camera between the 2 units. I know the LX-9 looks like a bigger camera.

have you been using someones camera or have a great deal of experience with them? often I see people buy cameras, use them for a few weeks, then never touch them again. Prob wouldn’t go for the Lx-9 tbh… not many positive things to say from most about them.

I have a friend who brings his camera along. It’s neat to see and confirm the type of fish down below. It also helped me recover a $100 JT snare rod 20 ft below after I watched it get pulled down by a fish. LOL

I put mine a few inches below the bottom of the ice.

I use Coldwater reels. They are great bang for the $$. I use scheels short 5′ leadcore rods on the inside and shimano compre 10’6″ rods on the outside. Reed’s had the long rods at a great price. Not sure if they still do. I also use the same reel and a 8’6″ compre rod for a 5 color setup to run out on planer boards on Lake Erie. That’s a little deeper than you say you’re planning on fishing but you could use a 3 color setup. The 8’6″ compres are a little stiffer than I would like for LC but they get the job done.
