With the sun out today it gave the fish a different look at things. They were a bit more aggressive today, but seemed to be harder to locate. The tip of the day was keep moving. The river had come up about a foot since last thursday when I was out. Hope they can hold it there till ice-up. Surface temps were back up to 46 degrees from a low of 39 last thursday. This is my dad with the biggest of the day, 12″

Pool 14 has some great crappie action at times. No need to hire a guide fishbonz. Just give me a call and I can show you some “stuff” that would blow your mind

It seems to me that sound a little drastic to shut off the whole river below these dams. If the concern is people keeping every sauger they catch no matter what size, thus decreasing the population. Why not set a size limit and quantity limit for 3 or 4 years and let the DNR do its job to control that limit and see what that results in. If there is another reason for these closings, I would like to hear others opinions.

Where are you getting these jigs, I have done a search but can’t find them. They look great, I’d like to try them.

From what I have heard they are paper maps, but I am really not for sure.

That night was the only time they had a 1 fish limit. Normally it is a 5 fish limit, it usually takes 10-13lbs to win.

Thanks for the hot tip, hafta try that next time I guess. We thought we had just as good a chance down there as anywhere because the bite was so tough. So much for thinkin huh. Reel Guy, those locations are on pool 14. They both can hold fish from time to time. I guess I just find it hard to prefish for a $40 tournament, have fun-drink beer, let happen what will.

Which jig are you refering to, the Ultimate Rattling Jig hooks are ultra sharp and have a good wide gap. I think that jig is the best on the market.

Is there any other tackle but Team Supreme? I can’t see any reason for using anything else. The comptition in that circuit is top notch. Where do you find slop on pool 14?

It might have been a different story if we could have got that five pounder in the net. Oh well pitbull, you are the king of 14. Keep up the good work

There used to be a huge baitshop in Brainerd Minn. that had a depth finder repair shop in the back of it that would do repairs on them. I think the name was Marv Koeps bait and tackle but i’m not positive. try Nisswa Bait and tackle

The Shimano Castaic does, I have used it for 2 years without any mechanical problems with the flippin switch. Seems to be a strong reel. I think I paid about $160

For flippin and pitchin I use a 7’6″ Team Diawa rod and a shimano castaic reel for jigs, and a Team Daiwa LT rod and a shimano calais for tubes and smaller worms. I have never had a problem with either one.

Most times it works better to contact the locks via cell phone. It seem like they always answer the phone, but don’t always answer pleasure boats requests to lock in a timely fashion.

Wow, I wish I could fish like these guys. They must have a lot of tournament experience.
