The kid shot a big doe tonight. He said it kicked after the first shot and kept waking. So he kept shooting, lol.

Punched a tag on a doe this am. Felt good to get one with the 12ga again. Had the kid help grin

Real proud of my area. First shot was only 2 minutes early. Saw one 20 min before legal. Acted like a buck, too dark to confirm.

Just scouted a piece of public near home. Looks good, plenty of sign. Gonna set the kid up in a ground blind and sit in a tree nearby.

I’d hang a 45k in there. No need to overthink it.

I have been using pro ears 28bt for a few months now. The lack of touch controls is great, no more hoodie or head net setting changes or calls. I did have some wind noise last Sunday with the 20mph gusts. (They do come with foam covers for wind that I do not use). My only complaint is when I’m using the sound amplify mode, I can’t tell what direction gun shots are coming from. Standard noises are fine (duck calls, conversation, etc) if it’s loud enough to limit the decibels, I can’t tell left from right. Not a big deal I guess, just a weird sensation not knowing direction.

There has been an uptick on car kills around me in the last week or so. Most look to be yearlings.

Trolling spinners on a lake near Cambridge, hooked something heavy but had no fight. I figured it was a big walleye! Nope, it was a can of old milwaukee. Had the same thing happen night trolling in wisco. It was a small flower pot filled with concrete and a fake plant.

What is the deal with the vexilar hate? They make a few innovations and add features every 5 years or so. But wait, it doesn’t have a GPS, play dvds, or bake my hot pocket? Pfft. What a piece of junk… I have all the GPS and lake maps on my phone. They are pretty dang good too. The vex is for looking at my jig and fish. It needs to work and I don’t want any screen lag or other bs updates that the helix has. They are dead reliable and the battery life is great. That’s why I use them.

I have 3 redodo 100ah lithiums in series running my terrova. I ran them for 14 hours trolling on lake michigan (speeds 4-6) without running them dead. I’d definitely buy them again. The pricing is now comparable to good lead acids.

Last I heard the guy that bought it a year or two ago ran it into the ground and all the good employees left. I thought there was a group of people that were going to buy it. I believe some of the capras were coming back too. Hopefully someone can bring that place back to life.

I’d imagine that boat could do anything when the motor shears off at 50mph. I found a few photos of it.

30k a year for 17 years on work vans. All oil changes have been at valvoline. No issues! Will they try to upsell you, yes. Tell them what you want and pay the $100.

I have never bent an axle, but I have broken and bent leaf springs. The broken spring was a bad time. (Railroad crossing broke it) The bent one I didn’t even notice until I got home from an 800 mile trip. I’m not sure if it was a landing or rough roads.

8# braided line will make most cheap rods sensitive enough for walleye jigging. There is no need to spend 400 on a walleye rod.

When people aren’t catching fish it’s always because of too many people and technology is ruining the sport. Now the fishing is good and all I hear is there are too many people and technology is ruining the sport. Right….

A good headlamp or handheld spotlight should get you thru the river just fine.

Sticky traps! You should set up a trail cam on the ground there.

Simms challenger uninsulated. My set is probably 8 years old and is still waterproof.
