Still just damp here in Kanabec county, central Minnesota. A few extremely small flakes is all so far.

According to radar it’s supposed to be snowing here…… Are the weather terrorists at it again!? Just like the last few predictions.

Quite the accurate prediction here of 3-5″…..we have a 1/4″ of icy snow. Wrong once again.

The USPS for the most part is a made up jobs delivering junk mail 6 days a week. It’s not very often I get anything in the mail that I might actually need. Pre sorted standard mail is absolute garbage and gets thrown away by most people. USPS is an absolute disaster of a company.

I’m just another guy with a Milwaukee fuel drill that is about to be junk and I only have a 7″Lazer bit on it. I’m not impressed with Milwaukee, never have been. I’m guessing there’ll be a few more Milwaukees burning up in the near future.

I just purchased a new Clam Scepter 30″ Noodle that had a good feel and sensitive tip I’m excited to try for panfish. Jury is out but it wasn’t terrible price wise at around $40.

The 4 piece set I purchased was used. The drill that has been in question I purchased new in 2018. Only thing it’s done is drill holes in the ice. The other drill that’s in the kit works intermittently as well. Just changes speeds on its own.

I was forwarded to a tool repair company by Milwaukee customer service. After speaking with the tool repair company they figured the drill is on its way out. Not cost effective to get it repaired either. It still drills great when it’s not on its own break time.

I contacted Milwaukee today and I’m waiting for them to get back to me.

I purchased a used kit and the drill and skill saw are questionable at best. I realize they’re used, but after this auger drill failing as well I’m getting a bit Leary of the mighty Milwaukee reputation.

Yes I’m running in slow speed as I always have. It timed out a couple times in the past, but now it’s doing it all the time. I’m definitely not impressed with Milwaukee cordless tools.

Ordered from Walmart online. Took quite a bit of time to receive them though as the typical USPS has a mishap apparently.

If I let off the trigger to clear ice shavings with my boot. I always use full depression on the trigger when drilling a hole. Lots of ice this year so stopping drilling to kick the mound of shavings is almost required.

    Update on the Milwaukee drill.

I just purchased 2 6.0 high output batteries and took it to the lake today for a test run. It still times out almost anytime I let go of the trigger, whether it’s after 2″ of drilling or 18″ of drilling. If I don’t let off the trigger it never stops. So apparently it’s not the batteries.

Ok, thanks for letting me know. That’s definitely a good price I think.

If you don’t mind me asking, what did 2 6 amp Milwaukee batteries cost you?

The price of trucks has gotten to be insane these days, so I don’t like putting any unnecessary miles on my truck because I don’t want it to depreciate any faster than it already is. I will opt for my car unless I “need” the truck for something. I got a nice little grocery getter corolla 5 years ago for $6k and that is my daily driver unless I need the truck for hauling/clearance/towing/hunting/dog training etc. The corolla is cheap to own/insure/fix, gets great gas mileage, and is reliable. Not to mention I can fit in any parking spot and not have to worried about getting doored. I’ve avoided putting almost 40k miles on my truck by having this car. Big trucks are great but I don’t need to drive mine everywhere.

I also have a Corolla for all my driving around miles. I have a truck for truck duties. Corolla gets double the mileage of most trucks and like stated I keep thousands of miles off the truck and drive the wheels off the car.

Most trucks you see are 4 door, one driver, no passenger, box empty driving up and down the highway. Trucks nowadays sit up so high without these “leveling kits” that you need to be 7′ tall to get anything into or out of the box. Some people just have to drive a truck for what I’ve never understood?

Fleetfarm had the new 6.0amp buy one get one free.

That add says buy 2 6.0 Milwaukee batteries for $279 and get one free.

Just found a place that has 2 6.0 high output Milwaukee batteries for $150. Would these batteries suffice for the ice auger drill?

So it sounds like it’s the batteries as they are at least 3 years old. I was just thinking about the price on a 8 amp battery is probably as much as the whole Hercules setup. I’ll have to do some research on Milwaukee battery prices. Thanks again for all the info.

I see for $150 I can get a Hercules 1200 lb drill with a 8 amp battery and charger. Wondering if I should ditch the Milwaukee, haven’t been impressed with Milwaukee since I purchased a separate 4 tool kit.

I will try a few different things and contact Milwaukee as well. Thanks for everyone’s input on this.

Can’t be overheating, sometimes it does it on the first hole.

I’m using the 5 amp hr batteries I’ve used since new. The bit is still pretty sharp. If I stay on the trigger it doesn’t stop. But sometimes when I let off it just decides to not work for awhile.

the more games I watch, either these games are fixed, or the ref’s have become more inept than they ever have been. maybe the game need to have less rules that can be intrepid 6 different ways

I agree, terrible reffing, and the tackling in the NFL is questionable at best. Hard to watch running backs and big receivers attempted to be tackled up high and ran into.
