How’s the roads? Did you drive out? Assuming with the warm up today it’s pretty wet out there, but 40+inches of ice should be safe to drive on right?? Heading up tomorrow. Probably stay close to pine island and hope that the walleyes are moving closer the the river!

Have any of you guys used their ice houses?

Made the purchase! Found that the battery isn’t that big so I can slide it in my jacket. I have a bag that is insulated with some hand warmer pockets and that keeps it from getting too cold just fine!

Rolling to lake of the woods Thursday. Gonna put it to the test and I’ll let everyone know.

The nice thing is, though the shaft runs shorter than some other augers, it did come with a 12 inch extension. Cutting through 25 inches of ice no problem in the cities!!

It was shot over 5 days… Actual hours spent I’m not sure. But I think the total was over 8,000 pictures

    Thanks for the info James!

Getting a new lx5 for $399 with a $50 mail-in rebate (offer expires 1/25/14 for Marcums over $350) from Gander. Got them to price match from Capras and Reeds who have the units going for $399 currently!

Is the LX6 worth the additional $100 over the LX5??

What about the marcum lx6? I found one for $499 as well…

Worth another $100? I only have a Mac so updating the software might be a pain..

    YES!

I have had a ton of luck with these lures… both leadcore and long line trolling.

I usually run from 2 to 2.7 MPH and they seem to have a ton of action. If found that the additonal ‘scatter’ helps catch more fish and you dont have to necessarily ‘pump’ your rod as much.

Colors are firetiger, perch, and gold. I love both the minnow and shad raps.

What do you mean by bumping the enrichment?

Just pushing the key in and out? Do you hold the key in when you start it up?

I always have to give it throttle to start.

When it’s cold it will fire up with the throttle engaged but usually it runs for a few seconds then dies. I make sure the ball is hard and try it again 3-5 times then it runs. Usually when I put the throttle back to neutral/attempt to reverse or throttle away for the dock, is when it kills.

Once it’s no longer cold, it fires up right away.

    Thanks man!

    I will start trouble shooting.

Plugs are new and gapped. I do have an electric choke. How do I make sure it is set correctly?

    Hey Joe,

I have a ton of husky jerks, scatter raps, shad raps and salmos. Is the lindy shadling something you think I should pick up? Any colors in particular?

I have done some night fishing on Mille Lacs with husky jerks in the fall and they seem to produce really well.

Also, what minnows do you usually use when you got a jig on? Anyone ever do any leadcore or tossing taildancers out as well?

    thanks!

Looking for the same thing… I have attempted the try the Willis knot but I cannot threat the lead core it basically unravels. I have also attempted to do a blood knot but the mono just comes apart.
