I bought a Happy Troller from Cabela’s 3 years ago and it has been working great. I have never had any problems with it. Personally I think the aluminum plates are worth the money over the plastic ones.

I managed to find the number to the Fort Francis border crossing. And yes the potato ban is still in effect, he also stated no dog food and no fire wood may cross this year too. The number is 807-274-3655 ext 241. Use extension 241 for general questions only.

I own a 60 horse Yamaha and asked the dealer that question when I bought it. He stated that below the water they are quieter than a 2 stroke but he could not tell me how many db lower than a 2 stroke. I asked him to find out and he never got back to me. However I troll for lake trout in the spring in Canada every year when the fish are very close to the surface. Personally I believe it spooks the fish less than a 2 stroke does as you idle through them, but I can’t back that observation up with hard facts in any way. For shallow position fishing I would use a trolling motor to keep position if at all possible.

As of two days ago it was not open. Once the flow gets over 77,000 on that pool is when the water starts going over the cement bridge, so I will open up right quick then.

I used to clam a lot on Pool 5 and 6. You can find clam beds all over but they were predominately just off of the main current in a firm mud. I also found a lot in sandy areas but the quality of the bed was not near that of one located on firm silt. An other good location was sloughs that had decent current going through them. Depth was not a concideration, I found beds in two feet of water and in 35 feet of water….. Find a place with steady current and a semi firm bottom and you will likely have a clam bed some where in the area.
