I played guitar at a number of coffeehouses (mostly folk and original) and for churches in MN and WI. Played Jazz trumpet in HS and College, Quintet/quartet groups, and Christmas anthems solos at churches. I also took some keyboard theory lessons and can put together a song or two on the piano. Without music, fishing, and paddling, life wouldn’t be worth living.

I don’t know of any Colorados with the 5.3l. Gen1 had a 4 cyl. and a 5 cyl. and the recent gen has a 4 cyl., 6 cyl., and a DuraMax 2.8l I-4. I had the 3.6l v-6 with crew cab and 6′ box so it had the longest wheelbase. Nice enough truck but I returned to a full size truck. Biggest issue? No towing mirrors so I couldn’t see around the boat.

A great day on the lake! Tried a couple of new spots before hitting the honeyhole. What worked the last few weeks did not work today. Switched to pulling spinners and crawlers/leeches. Leeches produced the most walleyes-crawlers caught everything else. Speed and color were key as was staying off the bottom. Arrived at Dahlman Land after 3:pm and missed all the excitement. I was happy that my truck/trailer were not blocked in by other vehicles squeezing in to the lot. Counted four rigs that were hemmed in by double parked vehicles. Next year I will save myself the season pass fee and go elsewhere.

Trolling in a canoe isn’t all that bad. I bring a reversible micro board from Offshore and a couple of cranks. One crank I make sure I have two of is a Flickershad in chrome clown #5 and #7. Have a couple of search baits like lipless cranks and/or jigs and plastics and use a leader or 15# flouro for when those pike slam it. I always toss a bait below falls keying on current seams. Toss into weed lines when you find them and hit the points for smallies, bays for ‘eyes, and reed beds for pike.
One last bit of advice, don’t leave your stringer tied to you boat if there are snapping turtles. One bang on the side of the boat will call them in and they will clean your stringer bare.

Frank Gailloreto at Rock River Marine is one of the best boat riggers & Sales in southern WI, I recommend to give Frank a chance when your in market for a boat.

X2 Frank has helped me in the past and I recommend him to anyone I can. He goes above and beyond!
I went out with him in an Alumacraft Voyaguer tiller and that may be my next boat. Excellent ride in 10-15 mph winds and waves.

Has anyone seen Jeff Patrick in his new boat? I think he ended up in an Alumacraft after all. (If my sources are correct.) See you on the water. Bob

I got out on the river Tuesday from 10- 4:30. Boated a dozen fish and had one keeper and one missed at the side of the boat. Fish were located from the mouth up to Kmart launch. Many Sauger and some walleye. Bright skies, fish were deep, had to give them a two count before setting hook or you’d miss them. Water temps 40-42*F and pretty clear water after the rain.

I was going to suggest Cisco also. Hey Jeff, you outfitting a new boat? Won’t be able to recognise you on Koshkonong now that the Alumacraft is sold. Bob

These are P-metric tires so they are rated by a numerical value. In this case it is 110T rated at 2337 lbs/1060KG per tire and speed (T) rated at 118 mph.

My Ford is a two wheel drive with locking differential. I needed the best M+S tire I could get. Thus, the answer to your second question: Michelin Defenders M+S. I drove this truck home in the last big snowstorm Milwaukee had. Dealer wanted me to stay home–but I wanted to get into and test my new truck. I grew up in Duluth, MN and never needed 4wd there, I don’t need it in southern WI. Good tires? yes.

Another WeFish sighting. Lots of shorts and a couple of 16″ eyes. One with a tag. Best color for the afternoon hour–pink/white.

They’ll work, PM me with a payment option. I have paypal or I could load the boat and go fishing. I may have someone to pick it up locally, too.

Agree with everything people have said except one thing. When trimmed out and on plane your cavitation plate should just be out of the water.

X2. Anti Ventilation plate is useful during acceleration but should be out of the water slightly at WOT. SS props work best for high HP motors. I had a Trophy 175 w/ 115 Etec that did 40 mph GPS with an aluminum prop at optimal rpm 5750 in 2007. I had a lighter kicker than you but a heavier boat. Engine was at second highest position. Dealer set it at a lower position and many of them do. learn to trim your motor up until it starts to let go and then trim down enough to just hook back up. good luck.

Hi. If you want to get the most from your motor you will need accurate tach and speed information. What source are you using for speed? I hope it is GPS and not your speedo. Tachometers are notorious for being inaccurate. You need a tacho that reads directly from the sparkplug wire or the engine module. I found info that says you should be reading RPMs in the 5800-6000 range optimally. Once you verify that you have accurate speed and RPM data, you can plug them in to a prop slip calculator and at WOT it should be 5-10%. A Stainless prop will give you better results–just don’t hit any rocks with it.

As for you paint problem–could be a poor paint job. If the paint was in more consistent locations on each blade it would be some kind of obstruction ahead of the blades such as the skeg or rivets on the hull. Still, it could be damaged blades with cavitation occurring at different spots on each blade.

The only wiring end that is not attached is the 24V plug and that would require you to match you boat’s wiring as there are many different plugins out there. The one I had attached to it was specific to my boat. My location is SE WI and the removable mounting plate is complete.

Just to be clear, this is the head unit and gimbal mount, no xducer or cables?

Some changes since my last post: Exchanged inline 3 cyl 90 for a 4 cyl 90 HO and Ford F150 for a 2015 Chevy Colorado.
