Ill be in the market for this next year I think? looks like a quality top! Do they make it the way that you ask them to? Are we talking hundreds or thousands?

They custom make them for each boat so they get your input, wants and needs. You get lots of input from them on what works, but ultimately they will build it the way you want it built. And you have the choice of material and hardware depending on ones budget. Thousands, but wishing it would have been hundreds. coffee

Well we got the top finished up today, and we are starting our trip up to Kab in the morning. A few pics as promised, I think Canvas Craft did an excellent job. Friendly folks to deal with, and prices are on par with other folks in the business. Also, I don’t have a pic right now but I had them convert my strap cover into a fitted snap cover, something I should have done from day 1.

Quality zippers, and Top Gun fabric..good info. I don’t have a good pic of the boat uncovered but I snapped one at the dealer some weeks back. And I will be sure to post up a finished pic. Still debating on doing the whole package or just doing the top this year. Things have got a bit expensive this year.

Does the removable bracket slide off the backside like mine? How you going to manage that when deployed

My old mount slid out from the back, so I understand what your saying. My new mount slides off from the side and not the back.

I love my Ulterra but don’t think I’ll ever get over being afraid of it getting stuck in deployed mode.

If your worried about the Ulterra getting stuck in the deployed mode than just install the removable mounting bracket like I did. Not trying to be a wise-guy, but it might buy some peace of mind.

My wife and I were fishing at Big Island a week prior to folks getting sick. It was mid morning and the Island was peaceful and quiet, no luck with catching anything around the island but we did see a few very large fish floating/ dead right around the island. Im pretty sure the dead fish are unrelated to all those folks getting sick but we did comment to each other about seeing the dead fish as we both found it a bit odd. Im glad we didn’t go for a swim off the boat that morning.

I went with the Ulterra and I like the auto stow and deploy. I like the trim feature and the remote has worked flawless for me. We have been in some rough waters and its really nice to just hit stow instead of having to walk up front and play the balancing game.

I just went back and ran through the Lund Boat Builder to rebuild this as a 2013

What I have is the “complete top” in the Lund catalogincludes suntop, walkway, tonneau, side and aft curtainsand prices out at $2155 now.

How is the top holding up for you after several years? Im debating on getting a fishing top done, possibly the full setup like you have. Debating between Permatop and CanvasCraft. Do you use the curtains and back much? Seems like a nice idea and looks great but not sure how much a person would actually use the full setup? Any input would be appreciated – Thanks!

This year I sold my 1996 Smoker Craft 16′ pro-tiller with a Yamaha Pro50, for a 2019 Angler V18 SF. I decided to go with the Yamaha 175 SHO, and Ulterra. We have only had the boat out about 5 times so far, but we are really happy with the room and performance over our old setup. I had a few issues with damage during shipping from G3 to Hannays, but everything was taken care of pretty quickly. If I can answer any specific questions about the model I have, just let me know.

I’ll be heading up with the family to the East end of Kab the last 5 days of July, camping in Lost Bay. I’ll try and post a report when we’re back on the 31st.

We will be at Voyageur Park Lodge. Looked pretty nice on the website, guess we will find out. Would appreciate ya checking back in with a report on the fishing. My wife and I are pretty new at fishing and never been to Kab so any tips are helpful.

I got on Tonka for first time this Saturday around 6 a.m. and parking was good with no stress on the launch. We got in around noon, and Gray’s Bay became a whole different animal. Frankly it was like an episode out of the Twilight Zone, and some YouTube “World Stars” could have been discovered there I’m sure. I seen 2 minor fender-benders while waiting to get my boat out of the water, and rigs were lined up 5 deep on the road, waiting for someone to pull out of the lot.
