Hey. . just wondering what kind of info you could give me on fishing the Chain. . Im fishing a big tourney in a few weekends as a non-boater and wondered if you have any tricks you could share just like what you look for (other than docks )what you typically use the end of Aug.

    much appreciated

We were on the Wisconsin River . . just below the Dubay Dam . . on Stevens Point Flowage, this past weekend for a Bass Tourney and the bite was tough! The most known “spots” for bass were not producing as i have heard that body of water could . .

think the flooding kinda screwed them up for a bit . .

This is a great topic !!

Have to say the most awesome thing i have seen on the River was 2 or 3 years ago — Was on Pools 7 & 8 i think ( it was in LaCrosse ) for Wisconsin State BASS Federation Tourney — we were prefishing on Friday in a back slough somewhere – the air temp had to be about 80 but back there it was 105 deg. + ….

I was so darn hot – we were leaving from fishing a shaded area, just got the boat turned around, and heard some splashing, here was a doe and her 2 young fawns playing in the water. The fawns were chasing each other and making a ruckus! it was so fun to watch. Let alone the first fish of the day was a 4 1/2 lb largemouth .. prefishing that day made the whole trip.

    THE RESULTS ARE IN !!!!!!

    1st place : Dennis Clark / Jeff Kuhn 17.20lbs (6 smallies / 2 largies)

    2nd place : Jason Yeager / Bill Schardt 15.27lbs (8 largemouth)

    3rd place : Jeff Augustine / Tyler Liska 14.66lbs (7 largemouth)

    4th place : Robert Arbeiter / Augie Pflum 11.75lbs (3 smallies / 3 largies)

    5th place : Mike Andres / Dan Thornborrow 8.86lbs (5 largemouth)

Hawg Bass was the 3rd place team of Jeff Augustine & Tyler Liska with a Largemouth that weighed 2.89lbs.

We had a total of 37 Largemouth & 9 Smallmouth brought in.

15 boats for the first year was a great turnout!!

Thanks to all of you who showed-up…… I think we will get a GREAT turnout next year seeing that we will be at Huckleberry Harbor for 2004.

    CONGRATS TO ALL !!

There has been one question brought up about prefishing this tournament.

There is no cut off date. You may fish until the day.

“All of our Spring Tournament Rules will apply” meant for our rules and not a cut-off date to fish.

    Sorry for any confusion.

I just read that entire above thread… and that was some really great stuff guys I almost had a tear in my eye… seriously.. i love to bass fish & tournament bass fish, more than any woman i have ever known ( dont know what i would do if i couldn’t )….. there are some VERY great points on that thread that I totally agree with, and some I had to read a few times.. a little slower to so i could understand , but As i think bass423 said in a post…. whats good for the Goose is good for the Gander. If this gets passes, it will be a step in the right direction, for the entire no-cull law.
