What are you pulling for cranks? I know the lead bite is still red hot.

BigV when do you start pulling lead? I’ve always started early august. I should be trying it earlier…

Are you talking about the conditions on Vermilion?? I’ve been here for a few days and I’ve seen no sign of any that. The water has been a bit tea colored all year. Fished muskys for 3 hours this morning. Moved a fish on every spot we fished. Had an upper 40s fish on that got off. Think outside the box a bit. Everyone and their grandma throws big blades and big prop baits…pounders. Toss something different.

Forgot to add….i fish the east end and i never put a line in until i mark a pile of fish. If they are tough to go leave them alone for a while and come back. It’s amazing on that lake as well how fast the eyes on that lake move up and off structure. You can graph an area at 8 am and its bare and come back at 9 am and its loaded for half hour and they are gone again. Be mobile.

Couple things I’ve learned about Vermilion. Hook color can make a huge difference. I know some people don’t believe in this and it’s no skin of my back. I’ve also found the style of weight im using while rigging can make a big difference. A couple weeks ago a 3/4 oz bottom bouncer killed everything else. Right now a simple 5 foot snell to a colored hook with a half a crawler should turn plenty of fish. Coming into august i start to dabble more with spinners and a half crawler and really start pulling lead core alot. Again, mess with colors….both with cranks and blades. August is my favorite month up there. It’s been the most consistent bite of the year for me in the 6 years we’ve had a place up there.

All companies do this. I work for UPS. If you ship something overnight from Rochester to Brookings SD……it goes on a truck to msp….then a plane to Louisville…..then on to SD.

It was rediculous. Piers is such a farce. He kept on cutting Lott off saying he’s just trying to push his agenda. Let me tell ya something piers…..U ARE THE ONE PUSHING THE AGENDA. Your country has a higher murder rate after gun control than before. Can’t stand that fool…..

Try the new suffix leadcore. That alone might give you what you are looking for.

Yes I have the new hero 3 white and its awesome. We routed the computer to the x box at my friends so we can watch the videos on the big screen. Can’t wait to use it musky fishing next summer. The phone app is pretty cool. You can see a live feed of the camera through the phone so you can line up the camera. Or if your buddy is in an ice shack 50 feet away with one you can watch live what’s going on in his shack Haha.

I had to listen on the radio in the brown truck. I swear every time I made a delivery and came back to the truck they scored again. Here’s to hoping the boys can bring home the big hardware next Friday!!!

I use an app called sundroid. It gives me sunrise/sunset, but as a musky guy it gives me quick access to moonrise/moonset. Also quick access to moon phases.

Sorry I’m not a coach……its common sense from anyone who follows college football. It’s easier to sell 6-6 and a bowl game vs 2-8. This isn’t a big boy program if you haven’t noticed. It doesn’t do this program any good to schedule 4 higher class games and start 0-4. And yes an extra month of practice is a big deal whether you think so or not. I mean I’m not sure how you can argue otherwise. Especially with a freshman QB who has only a few starts under his belt.

First whether you like it or not…..this is not an unusual strategy….especially for rebuilding programs. It has been used successfully many times, including in a couple different stints for Bill Snyder at Kansas St. Second…..you NEVER decline a bowl bid. Any bowl is a huge recruiting tool….not to mention the extra practices and extra game for developing a young team.

I just got mine today. What kind of dive curves are you guys seeing with the 12. Is it about 7 feet per color?

My photo album paints a much different picture. I think it speaks volumes when you dont take pictures of 27″ fish anymore. Its not a lake for everyone. Ive talked to people who hated the lake. I cant tell you that you are going to catch a ton of trophies. But if you figure the lake out….well……you will be leaving the lake saying……only 358 days left til I get to come back.
