Hello, i have a new 334c and i bought an extra power cord for it and put a cigarette adadpter on it and just set it on the dash of my truck. the unit works flawlessly sitting on the dash. mounted in my boat it will acquire the gps position sometimes when it is in my garage. hope this helps

I received my unit on last thirsday and hooked it up seemed to work fine until i put my lakemaster card in it. The unit is suppose to be aa plug and play but didnt recognize the card, so i called lowrance and anyway i ended up shipping it back to them. the card works perfect everytime in my lcx 111. the gps come on with the unit inside my garage.

I have one on my t 8. took about 1 hr to install, it works great for minor throttle adjustments. the pro model has a mft button on it i think it means momentary full throttle.
    Very good product.

I installed one 2 weeks ago on my t8. took me about 45 minutes. they give you a cd with the unit and i printed it out and carried the instructions out to the boat and followed step by step. works great for precise engine rpm. i got mine direct from the factory and i think the pro model was 30 dollars cheaper than cabelas.

Well thanks for your suggestions, but they didnt work. i even went as far as to put a different battery other than the one in the boat on the radio and didnt seem to help either. any more suggestions? thanks in advance

Thanks wade for the info, now where can i trade the garmin 188 for a 188c ? I am sure i will pay to trade but think i would like the color version better. my unit is brand new never installed yet.

I like my handle. i seem to use it alot when my wife gives me the honey do list. anyway i am still trying to figure out why the rcl lund boats have a 188 garmin on it instead of the 188c version, and what kind of anchor i should get.

thank you and i wont dot it either

Thanks for answering my question chris. I was wondering if the color version of the 188 was better or not. also what would you or anyone else recommend for an anchor for that type of boat.

    thanks
